The Preaching Work ,Fred and the WTS 'Batting Slump'
In a thread below, Fred, in a quite Daniellesque manner, sought to detract from Ray Franz's credibility because Ray did not promote the WTS' preaching activity.
Firstly I have to say that Fred is not in the easiest position. He is a WTS apologist of sorts and whereas he might have some support on some other boards like Great Crowd or WOL where his non-sequitors would go quite undetected, he finds it hard going here. But to his credit , he is trying…..very trying.
After all, it must be like being a Cubs fan in the bad old days when the fans would go to games with bags on their heads with cut out eyes. The WTS batting average is a solid, consistent,……0.0000 with many, many at-bats. Failed prophecy after failed prophecy, spawning more 'clarifications' as time goes on.
So the question is to what extent should one publicise the miserable situation, i.e. preach the word. Granted there is scriptural evidence that the first Century Christians preached, but they knew what they were preaching. There is evidence that the R+F do not. Ask any to explain the new generation teaching, for example. Granted also that the WTS has adopted Gods name, and without prejudice to any arguments in that regard, does it mean that God has adopted them? History answers that question.
So far as the preaching work is concerned, it is double-edged.
*** Rbi8 James 3:1 ***
3 Not many of YOU should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.
What happens if you preach inaccuracies and falsehoods? You would want to make sure for yourself that anything you preached was true so that you did not mislead any.
It is more than likely too late for the WTS. They would benefit from not preaching until they got their house in order. So it might be better Fred that next time you went out in Field service that you put a paper bag on your head with cutty-out eyes. Maybe if enough did it the WTS might get the point.
