It seems that Genesis is chock full of goodies to make YHWH look less than the loving, impartial, fair god so many think they worship.

Here is another one I just thought of.

YHWH decides to turn Lot's wife into a mound of salt for the horrible crime of "looking back" toward her home. This is brought up often by JWs who use the story to tell JWs not to look at the things behind.

We all know God is consistent and never changes so compare what happens later.

Lots daughters cannot seem to find any man around so they conspire two nights in a row to get their father drunk, and have sex with him two nights in a row. Gods response?-...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............. There isnt one Also Lot got drunk two nights in a row, which YHWH says is Bad, Gods response?- ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... again nothing. No punishment for Lot of his daughters.

Also I question just how drunk Lot could have been in this heartwarming wholsome story. Medically speaking, when a man is very drunk or passed out drunk, his ...ahem.. soldier shall we say cannot salute. Known in many circles as whiskey-d**k. If you are somewhat inebrieated but aware of what is going on, your soldier may indeed stand. It would seem that Lot wasnt as helpless as the story would make it seem..

The moral children? After all reading the bible helps us know the mind of God.. Looking back makes Jehovah very saaaaddddd. Incest? aparrently no biggie. Plus god never changes..

I guess the WT agrees. They will DF you for not agreeing with the GB, but do nothing with child being raped if there werent 2 witnesses.. They just put it in "Jehovahs Hands" the same guy who is ok with Lots daughters getting tossed to a horny raging mob to be gang-raped! Yeah thats the guy whos hands you want to leave issues like child abuse in.

Just go back in time a night before that. When the Angels were in town visiting lot staying in his home. The bad people of the town came to try to have sex with the Angels. So instead of asking the angels for help or praying to his mighty God as a faithful servant would, lot offers to send out his two virgin daughters for the crowd to rape all night long.

Apparently this didn't bother the daughters since they had sex with their dad a day later.

Which chapter is this in? Sounds like this is a very faith-strengthing account and I would love to share it with any jw.

Just read it in the NWT and glad to see they havent changed anything. I wonder what spin they'll put on that account in the weekly bible readings.

But seriously I don't know how I even began to listen to this sh*t before let alone think it was from god. Disgusting. I'd say this was up there with Deuteronomy 22:28-29 where it says rapists should marry their victims (after paying the "bride-price" of course)

Yes indeed!

It is accounts like this that we used to just gloss over and hope our 'newly interested' ones wouldnt notice!

If anyone asks about it, just come up with a story about how 'we dont know the full account, or Jehovah knew what was going on, or leave the details in his hands, or blah blah blah'

BUT when it comes to other biblical accounts, we would delve deeply into the accounts, looking for lessons and modern day applications etc!...

I had fun with this account once when casually chatting to friends in the cong over coffee when we heard of the awful account of the girl in the states who was held captive for years in the basement by that sicko guy, or the Austrian father who held his daughter captive etc... After the weeks bible reading section, I simply said, hmmm...its as sick as those accounts hey!?
