A twelve year old is mature. No twelve year old is mature. I was not mature at 18 or 21. Our brains are still growing at these ages. There is a biological component to it. Perhaps the case law contains a definition of mature.
My views have changed since I was thirty. I am willing to pay money for sophisticated colors. Colors I once swore were ugly. The food I eat is different. My political views changed. I seek out different friends. If I were a family court judge, I would resign on the spot rather than have these children killed by the state. Any child still living at home is not mature enough to choose death. OMG. I believed in most of the Witness crap at twelve. Ready to leave at fourteen. My favorite Beatles and Dylan songs have changed. Death is not temporary. Suicide is not allowed.
