From this week's book study, the "Draw Close to Jehovah" book, chapter 5:

That the great variety of animal life known today could have come from inbreeding within so few “kinds” following the Flood is proved by the endless variety of human kind—short, tall, fat, thin, with countless variations in the color of hair, eyes, and skin—all of whom sprang from the one family of Noah.

Good point. It's possible to bring the point out in an answer if you are still attending. "It's so magnificent how Jehovah brought all these millions of specifics from just a few kinds on the ark. I looked it up in the IT book and it said...."

Koceptual99: good idea, always preface your bible study responses with a WT reference. TMS study point: "use of

reliable reference sources, ie., Watchtower and Awake magazines which are rigorously researched and checked."

Fundamentalists (JWs included) deny any form of evolution, but accept the Biblical story of Noah and his ark of animals as historical fact.

To accept that the limited number of 'kinds' of animals on the ark adapted and changed in just over 4000 years to become over the millions of species today, is to accept an exponentially faster rate of evolution that scientists have never suggested, nor is there any evidence to support.

The irony of it would be funny, if so many people in positions of education, power and authority were not making policies, laws and education standards based on their ignorance and stubborness in not accepting scientific facts.

"some investigators" = WT staff writers (aka, janitors) making B.S. up off the top of their head....

My thought, exactly. Interesting how there isn't a single actual source listed for people to verify the WT's "facts".

I'm no biologist but I thought animal classification went along the lines:-

    • Kingdom
    • Phylum
    • Class
    • Order
    • Family
    • Genus
    • Species

Can someone tell me where 'kind' fits into this?

Except when the Insight volumes first came out and a portion was assigned to be part of the TMS, most jws have never opened them since if them.
