It seems like it is one huge contradiction. But are they doing it for the purpose to try to guess exactly who in the congregation is on ex jw sites?
Is it true that elders lurk the forums?

It's been known to happen. A few JWN members were "outed" as a result.
A few became JWN members because the elders thought they were posting here, showed them the posts and informed them of the site.

in the reading I have done about high control groups/cults it is many times the ones who are in the "upper managment" of the group that wake up to what it really is. They see more of the reality of the contriadictions, deceptions, lies, lackof love, etc. i think there was a poll done here ones asking how many here were elders, and there are a huge number of them.
Then when you get to the ones who are relying n the org to support them financially, they must correct the cognitave dissonance within, just to survive. Once dependant on the WT it becomes harder to walk away.
This is one reason I have great respect for Ray Franz to speak his mind. But it took him his basically his entire life to actually recognise the org for what it was. It was his profession, his lively hood. He focused on positive things until the negative finally outweighed them in his mind so much that he had to speak up, even though it meant he was ultimatly the reason for the GB instituting the strict shunning policy for all those who DA just like the ones who are Df.

Oh wow I never would have assumed an elder would do such a thing. Just to out somebody if that's the case then it seems like there are more elders aware of what's really going on within the organization.

Not just elders but any self righteous witness on a witch hunt can stalk you here or on Facebook. With this in mind think about what you post if you don't want the elders to turn up at your home with printouts of your posts.
It happened to us. Now I see the funny side back then I was more irritated than fearful.

Some conscious elders may lurk the forum to cause commotion in their congregation. For the following reasons;
1) Source for publishers and bring them before jungle justice. Which may eventually awaken the outed victim.
2) Inflitrate the congregation with infos that will make them to start thinking .....
3)
