Let's just blame the "Devil" for everything.... My wife's friend was having a bad week. I heard the phone conversation, " Satan's is really working over-time.. He is really hitting you hard right now.." LOL!!! Yep, getting older and having elderly parents, having issues with employment, getting fatter because you don't do sh**, since the Big J is gonna fix everything.. it's all that blasted Devil's work!!!

Your husband now knows about your true feelings. That's good especially as you will have surgery.
I would advice you to be slow to address more things to him. Just let it sink down to him. Do not overwhelm him.

Sounds like this was sparked off by an intense, wide-ranging discussion of the many beliefs/ practices of the JWs you don't believe and, by contrast, those outside the organization you do believe. Your husband may have been genuinely shocked by the depth of your differences - and fallen back on the line about the Devil.
I'm not sure exactly what you expected him to do. But he is a JW. JWs say JW things and react in JW ways. From his JW perspective he probably cannot get his head around the enormity of your disclosures. Diagnostically, he could be suffering from spiritual indigestion.
Humor may or may not help. God, if he believes you are under the Devil's influence, what does that mean for his continued living in the same house as you. Whatever you do, don't wear horns, hold a pitchfork and put those red tights, cape and mask out of sight. Bwaaa haaaaa haaaaa.

Thank for for all the responses. i was actually at an assembly all day yesyerday. It was....sad. There are so many good people there, just hanging on to every word. Amd one thing that struck me wazs how they were saying things to brothers, like "you may all be seated, brothers." or "the brothers welcome you" etc.
one apeaker spent time talking about avoiding apostate websites and keeping seperate from the world. he was really going on about the apostates all around. then a speaker was saying "beware of independent thinking, the more you study the publications the more you will understand this!" etc. Another also said that just because there have been doctrine changes and misunderstandings doesnt mean they dont have the truth. nand then a teen girl talking about her life in the truth, and how she is so thankful to jehovah for her spiritual family since her dad isnt a believer and she cant be around him.
cirst chance he gets, my husband wanted to make sure i heard the talk about apoztate sites and that he prayed for me when he heard that. i told him, i heard, and also heard the bit about independnt hinking.
he is not wanting to even qiestion anything jw. i am the one in the wrong.
i am going to take it very slow. i am not going to bring it up to him for a while because i can tell he is stressed out. thank you all for the kind words and suggestions...many good ideas and thoughts on how to deal woth this.

I just spent some time reading the jw quotes site amd....wow, just wow. makes me want to run away as fast as i can, but for my h sake i will take a slow fade and start back at my old denomination.
