Theories can be true or false. What makes it a theory is that it can be tested.
Evolution has not tested false, and many of it's predictive results have been found true.
The real missing link in evolution is not in the fossil record but in genetics.
How does the # of gene pairs change. Horses and donkeys have a common ancester but have different gene pair counts.
They can breed, but the resulting mule is sterile.
I would really like to see where science has tried to tackle the question of gene pairs, I have searched and not found.
I do accept evolution as likely true but can't accept it as fact without the math.
In all sincerity if you know of research in manipulating gene pairs, or know of a plausable explanation please respond.

aquafrenta are you talikng about chromosomes or base pairs? Are you talking about the fact that horses have 64 chromosomes and donkeys have 62.

If you are asking why there is a difference in chromosome number between the two species, you have to remember that chromosomes can fuse or break, for example Humans have less chromosomes than other great apes (23 instead of 24) due to fusion in our evolutionary past.

It's a pity somebody didn't choose a completely different word but thats what we are stuck with.
I propose that they switch to using the word model. Germ model, Gravity model, Evolution model. We can even get more specific and talk about things like The Darwinian model of Evolution, the Newtonian model of Gravity, The Einstinian model of Gravity, etc.
But even then I suspect the desparate Creatards would be saying: "oh but it's just a model - it's not the real thing." LOL

rocketman, that's right. I meant this to be a thread about a god who would allow the pain and suffering of his own creation. Man and animal. The fossil record shows this to be true. Even in the animal world of predators and prey. It's so cruel to each one. The predator trying to survive and the prey trying to escape and the pain and blood that involves the survival of each. I'm just throwing it out there that the gnostics have a more balanced view of what kind of creator god this was and how I feel the genesis story is nothing more than a fairy tail of lies by this creator god to mislead man away from knowledge. That's all!
