I have read thru the new book to be released at the assemblies.
It is intended to replace the "United" book in moving people
into baptism. I think it's called Worship the True God

I can't find one word in it about the blood issue or Jesus
dying on a stake. I'll go thru it again but if this pans out
you guys may want to ADVERTISE this fact - ESPECIALLY in regard
to folks DYING for a stupid doctrine THAT THE SOCIETY IS WEASELING
    AWAY FROM!!!!!

    Whoa, hold up, time out.

Say what? What new book to replace "United in Worship..."? What's its title? What are its table of contents? Most urgently, what color is it?

Seriously, did I miss discussion of this somewhere???

It's not like you to be coy---or so brief . No mention of the blood doctrine ---surely you missed it!--- or Jesus' death on the "torture stake"??? Details, man, details. Effective advertising results from knowledge of one's product.

    Thanks,

Don't know about the colour, but I do know that the publishers these days are bringing in so little money that it'll definitely be in paperback!

Well, I'm tied up here with stuff but quickly, as I recall:

It is paperback - it is to lead people to baptism - I think it
    is yellow/black .

I interpret it as "Truth Lite" - as in Coor's Lite Beer.

It looks like a very clever work - to re-define Witnesses
by placing emphasis on certain key doctrines while ignoring
others. So, it emphasizes Bible reading, THE AUTHORITY OF
THE ORGANIZATION, the resurrection, and neutrality. I can't
find any reference to the Gentile Times - but yes, it repeats
1914 and 607bc like they were obvious, ordinary facts.

I can't find any reference to holidays or the blood issue
or the stake. It does recommend going to WT publications
or elders to find out the answers to tough questions.
On voting, it slyly says something like "JWs don't don't
    interfere with others voting".

I think the title is Worship the Only True God. Get a copy
at some assembly, I think this merits some sharp analysis!

Interesting.. Amazing how cleverly they try and brush things aside to make changes seem subtle especially when the changes are huge to their teachings..

If this replace the Knowless book, then how will the Society ever keeps its commitment from the 1998 Kingdom Service School to use only the Knowless book, Require brochure, and subscriptions (!) as monthly offers, instead of trying to clear out stock of old light with yellowing pages?

It'll be interesting to see if this new book is to be an additional book to study pre-baptism or whether it replaces the Knowledge book. My hunch is on the former, rather than the latter.

    Cheers,

Actually, first there were 2 books pre-baptism, the Life Everlasting book and the United in Worship book, then it switched to the Require brochure and the Knowledge book in 1996 (wanting to be able to conduct Bible studies in a shorter period because the end is near :), then the WTS decided people could study 2 books last year, I think. But the United in Worship book is quite outdated having been published in 1983, 19 years ago. I wonder what is in the United book that needs updating specifically?
