This guy’s actions are childish and undignified. He’s not the only one that’s been screwed over by the WTS.
It’s a “bad witness” for all ex-JW’s.

I doubt if it was the intention of the 'aposate' was to 'wake people up', although it could be quite possible that there were some attending who may have been actually asleep. Whatever his purpose was, and whether his goal was achieved, only he can tell.
I did not care to watch the video, but if his aim was to disrupt the activities of the jws, well that can only be applauded. It's unlikely the jws would have thought any more or less of him. Whatever this person happened to do, or wherever he happened to do anything, he is still considered shit in their eyes. To jws there is no 'grade' of apostasy - either you are, or you aren't. And that means lower than low in their opinion. Which matters not to any self respecting apostate. So virtually any action taken to upset their little world can't be all that 'bad'. They hate you anyway.
Cheeses. Not a gatecrashing apostate.
Males who engage in unusual behaviour in public places are more likely than females to - even unintentionally - create a threatening aura that can be upsetting for those present.
Whether he meant to or not, he comes across as unhinged and scary. That's okay if you're confident in your ability to defend yourself against the prospect of a freaky incident, but could be extremely daunting for vulnerable people. I went to a public (non-religious) meeting recently and an unknown male entered the public forum denouncing a couple of the speakers. He was politely but firmly asked to desist until question time, but he persisted, resorting to an even louder manner. Eventually security was called and he was bodily escorted out after he pushed over a few chairs and a floral display.
Okay no other person was harmed but the fact remains these public deisplays by males (and to a lesser degree females) easily slip into appearing very menacing - and at a certain level, men know when they behave this way in public, fear is never far from the public's emotional awareness.
Crashing another religion's celebration and acting in a weird manner is to deliberately unnerve those present. it does not deserve congratulations - it warrants condemnation.
What a moron.
This is solely about him (terminator hero pose at the beginning and all), NOT about these people he claims to love so much.
Giving apostates a bad name quite fankly.
It take real courage to go to your local hall, yell something, and leave the hall. Yep.....serious courage.
What a doofus.
Shows up and makes himself a martyr and reinforces the belief of every JW in the room. How many teens in the room might have investigated things on their own at some point, but now maybe say "I don't want to end up like that guy, he turned apostate and look what he did".
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Just like the JWs going out on Xmas morning and harassing the world. As much as I could careless about the Meh-morial, it is JW Xmas. Nobody respects someone going out and ruining another's holy day.
Although I'm a big fan of bringing the watch tower down and he has every right to be pissed off with them. I think this sort of behavior just confirms in the dubbies mind that they are an oppressed people and they have the truth. I sort of would discourage this behavior. But anyway it helped the guy get it off his chest so power to him.
When he said rest in peace to the generation that will not pass away, he planted a seed. The thinkers in the audience will ponder, at least a little, what he said. For some, this will placed on the "List of things JW, that make you go hmmm", that every JW has.
Him doing that just doesn't inspire me to continue on making my move out of the Org. Right now I'm swinging both ways on whether I should stay or Leave the Org. Right now I'm leaning toward staying.
I'm ok with it but I thougt it was odd that he and the JW woman were having a big ol' conversation about their love of "worldly" music, at the Kingdom Hall let alone just before the memorial. JW's read in the magazines about the dangers of the world and the evils of the entertainment industry and use cognative dissonance to still be ok with listeng to it...even loving it.
I'll bet that lady was pretty blown away that they had so much in common....and so quickly.
Brother Mike, everyone's choice to stay or leave is very personal. For many of us though, if this guy helps one person think enough to get out of the org, which we consider to be a dangerous cult, then he was successful.
Sadly this sort of conduct just makes the "faithful" more determined.
It doesn't show dignity, and helps them confirm their thoughts that "apostates" are "mentally diseased"
There are wiser, more dignified ways to make a stand.
What he said would have made me think. Even when I was fooled, I was still very curious about what "apostates" had to say. It would have made me think, what he had to say. Also, I'd have pondered the guts it took for this man to stand up and do what he did.
Dignified? I suppose he could have said, "Excuse me please, but....." If you hand someone literature, they don't have to read it, but if you say one profound thing, they cannot unhear it.
Me personally? Unless it was for a funeral or possibly for a wedding, I won't set a foot on a KH property again.
