Interestingly, those who are familiar with the Bible know that this admission would have been made in the 1 st Century itself as even Paul believed Jesus would return in the FIRST CENTURY. (1 Corinthians 10:11)
A little honesty at last.
Your first link does not support your title. The Pope would make a formal statement. There is no mention in the poorly wriitten article that the cardinal has the agency to bind the church. Every newspaper would cover the news. CNN would stop covering the missing plane to cover the story.

A little while ago I had a conversation with 2 PSWs at my Dad's nursing home. They are both Christian.
I asked them if they thought Jesus would return in their lifetime. They were convinced he would. I then asked them why they thought they were any different than the last 2,000 years worth of Christians who have lived their entire lives and died without this happening.
There was a stunned silence and The-Deer-In-The-Headlights look from each of them .
It was obvious they had never thought about this before.
