69% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

@ The Scotsman - I think they meant there is no clear tangible evidence for a supernatural creator.

Every piece of evidence worth consideration that any theist or agnostic has offered me re the existence of god has proven easily refutable using logic/science.

Galaxie had the best answer about people returning to addictions.

Dogs sometimes return to their vomit.

OTWO, I remain religious and logical. I don't attribute my worshipful side as being addictive. Unless breathing, music, chocolate, dance, and food are also addictions.

Addicts also maintain logical reasoning for their addictions, mainly, that they are not really addicted. I've heard it so many times.

Belief in god for many is a habitual addiction confirmed by the brains ability to make them rely on it for their comfort and crutch as a support for the inability to exist without it,

Very akin to most addictions .

In my humble opinion of course

Is affection an addiction? How about loyalty?

Affectionm loyalty; very admirable qualities, also very understandable in human terms, definately not supernatural.

Jgnat, this thread is about those that (at least claim) that they broke free from belief and returned to it.

It is not about those that have never managed to put aside their belief. But I know that many people can use logic in their life in most avenues, yet somehow just THINK that they are logical to continue to be Christians.

    Just so we are clear:
Christian belief tends to include Genesis and the story of creation, the flood, taking the Jews to Egypt as slaves.
Christian belief tends to include prayer as a priority for disasters and illnesses.

Most Christians (as far as I can tell) tend to either dismiss or totally put aside creation and the flood in their education but not in their church, and they never really look at the evidence against the Jews becoming slaves in Egypt.

Most Christians include prayer for disasters and illnesses, but prioritize using government aid and doctors.

They use logic everywhere except at church and while debating.

I don't look at it as building a relationship through the watchtower but as building a relationship with like minded people. I discovered that like it or not I have more in common with JWs than any other religious group.....Space Madness
