So we all know about this new donation arrangement.?

Every cong is supposed to send in all their savings to the society for them to allocate or use however they see fit worldwide.

But here is where true "selfishness" has become apparent! (remember just this last weekend the wt study was all about not being "selfish" or self willed??!!)

So..our local congs elders have had a meeting to see how we can spend all of our tens of thousands of dollars quickly in local projects BEFORE the deadline to hand all funds over to the society!! So true SELFISHNESS at play indeed!

makes me sick this double standard and hypocrisy!!

I noticed the local KH is shut down for renovations. Don't know which funds (local or org.) are being used.

So funny... It blows me away how dumb these people (dubs) are about everything else and suddenly when it comes to money - they can think for themselves.

Money is a very personal thing. Mess with peoples money and you get their attention in a completely different way. Plus people know the whole - let me hold your money till you need it - scam. Kids were trying to do that on the playground when I was growing up.

But then again, I couldn't believe cong's were sending the branch "funds on deposit" when I first heard about that little trick. I was like "what?! You gotta be kidding me, who would be that stupid?" And then I found out our hall had like 5 grand sent off already.

So nevermind, they're stupid with money too.

I guess their non-cult mind kicks in for a minute or two until they have a chance to delude themselves.

Money is a very personal thing. Mess with peoples money and you get their attention in a completely different way.

This is especially true of people who have saved up some money.

They've worked hard. They've done without some things. They've set some money aside for a "rainy day".

Many congregations that have those type of people have done the same thing -- set aside funds -- only to have the WTS demand they give them up.

There were some of the R&F that protested against the frivilous remodeling that was going on. They thought the condition of the Kingdom Hall was just fine! (We know the real reason that was happening.)

This whole scheme is not going to go over real well with some folks I know.

I would do that on a more personal level, before they start checking bank accounts on individuals and start forcing donations based on that. You have money in the bank, they might check it and confiscate it through mandatory donations. Instead, pick up things you know you will be needing. LED light bulbs, upgrades in your appliances, new (quality) clothing and furniture, silver and gold, and whatever you can pick up to drain your account before the hounders can. (And that will prevent you from needing to spend even more money when hyperinflation hits, to boot.) If, because you get quality products, you save more money and find your account starting to build again and they could start confiscating it, keep buying gold and/or silver (which will hold up even when the dollar becomes toilet paper).
