Relationship with Jehovah?

I only had one "moment" with God when I was in. Then I left and blocked my self off from noticing his work in my life. Now that I am paying attention and interested in a relationship with him, I see him all over my life. The specific things I talk about with my friend to help her and especially what I am learning about God is how much he loves me and tries to cheer me up. A few examples: I was upset about a contest that I entered and didn't win. The next day a girl brings me a medal for a 5K that I walked in 2 weeks prior...it was 3rd place, but I was just so excited to win something that it didn't matter and I knew God did that. Another example (and these are small examples, but it doesn't take much for me) I went to a party with my husband and I was upset because there wasn't anything there that I knew and people didn't want to talk about things I wanted to talk about (like recipes, exercise, God, etc) and I got really sad (also I had drank too much) and wanted to leave. I felt all alone. The next day my husband and I were talking about a christmas party for my work and how the owner of the company loved my husband and liked him a lot better. So, at Sunday school later that morning, the owner of my work that we were talking about came up to me and mentioned how she loved sitting with us at the christmas party because we were so cute and then she started talking to me about food because she remembered I liked to cook and gave me a health tip that someone shared with her. And there are some stories that I have about conversations that I have with my friend and then the sermon at church was just about word for word what I had shared with her the day before. I have a relationship with him for sure! But before, I just didn't know to search for him like that!

The Watchtower talks about that all the time; having a relationship with Jehovah. How is that even possible.

It makes as much sense as having a relationship with a piece of rock. Actually no, the piece of rock can be seen and we know it exists.

So in reality in makes as much sense as having a relationship with an invisible piece of rock, which can't be seen, touched, doesn't talk back or interacts with you in any way.

First of all it bears repeating that JWs are just like people from any other religion, generally good. That being said, a "relationship" with Jehovah simply means that any individual JW believes that they have the truth and they are happy to obey "Jehovah" and his earthly representatives from their heart. The "relationship" with "Jehovah" means obedience to directives from the FDS and the "Stars of Revelation/Dukes", the Elders. If you do not comply, your have no relationship with "Jehovah."

If you can detect the problems inherent in that system, then good for you. You have a working, and reasoning mind. BTW, "Jehovah" never calls me back.

Yes, I believe I have a very good relationship with Jehovah GOD. The more I have sincerly searched for him the more he has been directing my life.

First leading me to find the truth about his so called earthly organization and almost simutaneously leading me to the truth about his beloved son my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

I have learned that following Christ is the way to Jehovah and helps fulfill Proverbs 27:11 " Be wise, my son and make my heart rejoice, that I may reply to him that taunts (reproaches) me.

It's like Jehovah is saying. I see the love you have for me, but if you want to serve me fully and continue following me, this is the way you need to go and I too, will be there with you also.

In cultivating a relationship with Jesus Christ I have recently learned that it is not us that brings reproach upon Jehovah's name. Another thing that we were made to feel completely guilty about.

My faith in Jehovah and his promises is still alive.

No kind of relationship at all...

i prayed every Day when i was a child. When teenage came, i was kind of bored by the "pray all the time thing" and quit the habbit.

Dis-Member, if you are referring to me, I must say that Iriddle80 said it quite well: "Now that I am interested in a relationship with Him, I see Him all over my life."

It's difficult to explain one's personal relationship with Jehovah. It's like being in love. I talk to Him in prayers, He answers me with actions.

Perhaps you can ask the thousands of children dying to starvation in Africa to know what they think Jehoober is saying. Is Jehoober there for them too?

@a watcher " It's like being in love. I talk to Him in prayers, He answers me with actions."

If you think that having a 'relationship' with an imaginary, invisible old guy in the sky, is "like being in love", than I can guarantee that you have never really been in love with a real, warm, flesh and blood, passionate fellow human.
