I was in my local cafe this morning and 3 sisters walked in, one I knew to speak to. I turned around and said "Hi Gemma", then one of the other sisters said "Hello, how are you?". I said "fine thanks, nice to see you" and went back to my converation with my 2 friends.

When I got up to leave, I went over to their table and said "Nice to see you", their faces were a picture. Gemma obviously told them I was DA'd. All I got were tight smiles, so I said to Gemma "I like your hair like that" and left...... Funnneeeee!!

It felt good to be a good Christian and greet these poor cult members.

I think behind he cult visage is a deep seated knowledge that shunning is wrong. However, in a group setting they have to play the paedophile protecting Governing Bodies'(tm) perverted game.

We are DA too. Miss our friends still in. Yet to see them on the street.

Will behave normally if I see them as nothing has happen.

They will find it hard to behave normally. Feel sad for them.

Seems as though if you are an x-member of any church and oppose their teachings you will get the cold shoulder.

I was talking to my husband about how sad I am going to be when my mom starts to shun me all the way. Unfriend me on facebook, etc. There really isn't much communiciation other than occaisonally she'll babysit my son and I'll hang out there when I pick him up. I really am so sad to think about it. I cried. So, he suggested that if something like that happens, maybe we could go to their "church." Of course, I told him that if I was DF'd, it would take 6 months before anyone could talk to me if I showed signs of repentence that were good enough for them and also, their religion isn't true. But then we talked about changing it from the inside and maybe my family would listen to me since I was doing it too, pointing out crazy lies from the WT. But then, they'd end up DF me again for apostasy, so it really wouldn't work out. I would just be have to be sad. A song line goes "it's just a broken heart son, this pain will pass away"

I'd have written jwfacts.com on a napkin or some paper and handed it to them as well, they cant forget it once they have seen it.

Quelly , I enjoyed reading your post up to your last concluding remark.

When you said " it felt good to be a good christian etc'", did you feel superior in the fact you now know how to be good and they don't?

No disrespect but imo you are all victims of the same fundemental non...sense.

Did you try and impart the good news of the kingdom to them as jesus is supposed to have instructed his TRUE GOOD followers to do?

I'm sure thats what they think they are doing. ?...its all a dillusion, none of you are any better at being 'good' than the other.

In my humble opinion of course

Galaxie, perhaps just being strong and kind in the face of shunning is enough for one day.

    Well done Quelly !

I think all of us when the opportunity arises should make them squirm as they try to shun us. It is a disgusting, un-christian, and unscriptural practice that deserves to be confronted.

I sort of shunned a DF'd couple once, it wasn't obvious, they were sitting in a parked car and I seemed not to see them, this was forty or so years ago. The act of doing that was so foreign to my nature, and made me feel uncomfortable that I resolved never to do the like again.

Over the years I always greeted DF'd ones as normal wherever I met them, and found them good seats in the K.H if they attended anytime, no sitting at the back unless they themselves preferred it. I was never spoken to about my non-WT compliant attitude, I guess the Elders knew damn well what I would say.

If any JW's feel uncomfortable with "Shunning" then good, and the more uncomfortable we can make them feel, the better, well done again !
