I feel like a fool for feeling guilty for not having a regular family study. With being a JW, and all that entails, plus being working mom, it just didn't happen. I sat down once and calculated how much time it would take to do all the things I was supposed to do as a JW, plus being a mom, plus working, I would have about six hours a week to call my own. That was just not enough for me. I think I just gave up at that point, did the minimum after that and didn't care. I am an introvert, all those meetings took something out of me, I loathed them.
As for all the people in the congregation that did all the right things, family study every week, study for every meeting, never missed a meeting, service, etc., their kids didn't stay in the religion either, it didn't seem to make any difference at all.
Children are all individuals, even in a cult you are not going to force them to stay.
