TBH when I was an elder I just wanted to help people not have self righteous titles. Mind you my missus at the time thought I was a twat. She'd have a question and say 'I'll ask the elders.' So I reminded her 'I am an elder.' She just didn't like me being an elder coz I wasn't an arrogant prick. She left me when I left the cult. There is a message in there somewhere but I am not sure what it is.
