I do like the coffee in Caffe Nero. Strong but not bitter.

Tim Horton's is the Canadian high ranking coffee, and it has sustained me during my working career.
Starbucks does a good bold cup of coffee. I like mine black.
I recently bought an Espresso machine that makes great Espresso. I use an Italian blend of coffee for that.

My favorite "top shelf" coffee is Rusty's Hawaiian 100% Ka'u coffee. I had a friend grace me with it and I haved loved every drop. It is a ritual when I make it. I prefer grinding it myself, and setting the grinder to slightly coarser than an Espresso to get the most out of it.

Caribbean Coffee -- not the coffee from the Caribbean but a company that sells all kinds of coffee. They have a kind called "Hair Raiser" coffee, very strong, good flavor. The company is in Santa Barbara, California, but they also have a website. They mostly sell to coffee bars, specialty grocery stores, that sort of thing.
Also, "Smooth and Mellow" from Trader Joe's -- of course TJs is just in the US as far as I know. It's a medium roast, very delicious.
Best place to get coffee? At home, if I make it for you.

Buy an Aero Press. Best cup of coffee for the price of the machine.

I much prefer the perked coffee that my grandmother used to make on the stove to the drip machines.
I was in a conversation once in which someone was describing their coffee-aficionado friend's technique. He bought green coffee beans and roasted them in a popcorn popper, then ground them and made coffee.
As LisaRose pointed out, a French press makes excellent coffee.
Best wishes on your quest for the perfect cup.
