Unbelievable but not out of character for WT or their appointed minions.

This organization has absolutely no accountability to its members, which is why it gets away with the things it does. Zero transparency means corruption goes unchecked. I hope JWs in that area wake up and start asking questions that expose these corrupt elders for who they are.

So essentially this congregation used donated funds to buy a property in 2008 for $265k, then six years later sell it again for $110k.

When it was sold by the trustees (BoE) for $110k they sold it to a holding company owned by one of those same trustees.

I'm pretty certain the charity regulators there would have something to say about this.

This is being plastered everywhere and thanks to the vast Aposta-army with lots of great ideas...it's gonna hit the fan. I've been answering emails & phone calls all morning, with several wanting to help and needing some details or questions answered.

Our friend Jerry Jones is calling HQ's to ask the service desk about this. I've had someone else ask permission to grab our video off of Youtube and send it to HQ's [I don't think this will make a dent] but we apperciate their effort.

I had someone from our Facebook group go and post on every Verde Valley realtors facebook page that they would want to stay away from this property and any others the elders try to sell because it is embroiled in controversy.

Notinmytown from Youtube is plastering his postcards all over the Verde Valley as well.

They're supposed to have another property as well, but I can't seem to find it under the VV Cong. legal name.

What am i missing in this story? I'm not quite getting the point here. So the congregation bought the hall for 265K. Then an elder, or a body of elders sold it to themselves for 110K. Are the people in the video trying to make the point that the 265K was never actually paid for the property? Because if it was, i don't see a scam here.

To make analogy, let's say i want to buy a house for $265K. I ask my family to please lend me the money, which they do. So i buy the house for $265K, then a year later i sell the house to myself for $110K without them knowing. How did I make any money here? The previous owner kept the $265K and now i actually owe a least a part of the 110K.

Are they implying that initially, the elders collected $265K, but payed less and pocketed the rest? I could see a scam there, but that's not what they are saying...

Hope this works out and people get upset. This same thing happened in Irvington New Jersey in 1992 - 1993. There was an Elder who was a realtor who came to the elders of all three congregations and told them that there was aproperty 3 blocks away that would be perfect for a kingdom hall. It was a house on half an acre. He assured us that the home could be turned into a kingdom hall.

We paid 225k for the property. Then 2 weeks after we sold it we found out that we could not use the property for a kingdom hall. They turned around and sold the property to ANOTHER ELDER and the realtor again was the Elder from the other hall. It sold for 129k I believe. I am sure you can check it out on the Irvington Property appraisors office website if you need the info.

They had a local needs about it and then it all just went away., The friends were mad for 3 or 4 weeks then it never mattered. 20 years later they are still in the same kingdom hall. It seems like these sorts of schemes happen on a regular

The cong. paid $265,000 for the land in 2008 for a new KH. Then the elders decided they didn't want the land so told the cong. it was being sold. One of the two elders entrusted with the responsibility of making sure the land was sold at fair market value purchased it for himself: for $110,000.

The scam is that he bought the land for $155,000 less than what it's worth, and the congregation has no idea this is what has happened. They are unaware that they have taken a huge loss so this elder trustee can make out like a bandit. Do you think this deal would have been approved had the facts been presented to the congregation?

You don't see any problem with this????
