ADCMS - the gang at my house (non-witnesses) LOVE this one! My husband was laughing at the door being kicked in - I told him it's not funny - he just can't imagine how crazy/evil they are. Maybe the picture will get the point across.

Sad the cult would love to take over on lives (especially ex-witnesses) like this.

I think the address to the wt needs updating to upstate NY?

This letter was the ONLY thing to keep them away from my house. Now, they finally got the hint. The letter really does go to NY and the elders get a letter from headquarters but right on their letter they suggest going back in a years time to see if the householder might have had a change of heart. A friend decided to send one every year with a Christmas card!

Don't bother trying to send on to the local kh as most do not have mailboxes and it will just be returned to you. If you decide to send to an elder send it certified mail.

i thought maybe i was on the do not call list as i hadn't seen anyone or heard anyone at the door in quite a long time.

at one point i had an elder calling on me regularly with his wife and i think i was a route call. near to the time he stopped calling i could pinpoint which saturday he would call on me. he must have called for a couple of years and i quite enjoyed his visits. i had stopped attending for about 7 or 8 years when he first started to call. by the end i was becoming a little irritated by the mechanical shall we say way that the call was. i could predict when he would come. he would always give me the magazines and point out an article and so on the last visit we had a discussion about the trinity and a few other things and i was surprised at myself. i had always felt things like the trinity bored me to death most biblical things did and i could never see much in the trinity. i think the expression the scales fell from my eyes would be appropriate. i was surprised how he viewed Jesus in relation to John 1. Maybe i wasn't paying attention at the hall all those years i went, could be i was to busy counting the ceiling tiles. Anyway he left a bit irritated i thought and never returned and nor did anyone else. I went to the hall after that and made and effort to talk to him which isn't me at all but it felt different not so warm.

the good thing about knowing when the elder would call was that i could prepare myself mentally i sort of need to. recently i have had a visit this is some years later and although the conversation starts out fine i'm relaxed and we talk about general things soon the conversation turns to the 'truth' and i change. i googled it and i'm pretty sure it's a panic attack. i've had other panic attacks according to my doctor but they were very different and came in the middle of the night and were a real battle and so i didn't think this was but i'm sure it is. they want to come back. infact i sort of invited them but now i'm not so sure. there is a part of me that really wants to talk with them but i need to not have a panic attack it really ruins my day.

The DNC list can be a farce when the territories are handed out to any nimnode brother who loses the slip, disregards the slip because he decides everyone needs a "witness" whether they want it or not. jws can be idiots even when they see a No Trespassing sign despite the announcements from the platform. I takes an arrest locally that gets publicized. That's what happened here, talks from the platform telling local jws that no legal support would be supplied by the WTS or the local congregation. Except for some jws still living in the past, it finally got through. The brother had to pay a $400 fine and expected the congregation to pay it. They did not.

Contacting the WTS directly is good, but remember it goes through the hands of many flunkies there who decided whether it should go to legal or not. I would call their legal department, talk to a lawyer there, get their full name and direct phone number and the address you can send your legal concern to...make it registered. I would think that if your spouse is not backing you up on this knowing how it upsets you, why not? It is a form of stalking; would they like a non-jw neighbor dropping by to sell his religion to you?

I put up a horseshoe over my front door, and hung a Smurf from the light. Oh, and hubby sent a letter to the KH saying that if they continued to harrass me, the police would be called.

I hope they leave you alone soon Lisa Rose x

But come on, if they have a do not call list they should respect it, otherwise why have it in the first place?

You made me feel sorry for the guy that came to your door first. It's probably not his fault. What usually happens in this case, is that indeed there is a note on the territory card that says "Don't visit this person".

But when a group goes out in a car, often there is one territory card and everybody pitches in, so the group leader will tell everybody " you do from house x to house x" and then report back with your notes. So when they go to your door, they don't have the territory card.

The group leader must have realized it and ran to the house but didn't get there in time.

My best guess is that the dipstick elder who signed out the territory didn't notice, or didn't bother to tell anyone about, the list of "do not calls" on the territory map.

Your best bet is a "no trespassing" sign. There is a WT letter stating that if JWs go to a "no trespassing" house and get arrested, they are on their own legally.

The threat of real-world consequences is the best deterrent.

It was my experience that do-not-calls are either ignored or not noticed by JWs until it is too late. Some JWs think they are doing a do-not-call a favor and will be nervy enough to call anyway OR are looking for a funny experience to talk about afterwards in the car group.

In other instances, JWs are so busy gossiping and not paying attention that they do not notice things like this along with the No Trespassing signs.

As somebody pointed out, it will take somebody calling the police and making an issue out of it to stop them.
