Just finished watching Monuments Men. Great movie! Hitler’s art seizure during WW2 got me to wondering what the Watchtower org would do with great pieces of religious art if they were ever given the opportunity. Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper , Michelangelo’s Madonna of Bruges , Hubert and Jan van Eyck's Ghent Altarpiece ... would they all be destroyed in the name of Watchtower purity, given the art's reprehensible connection to "false religion"?

I used to wonder that as a "faithful" jw when I saw people who felt only Kingdom songs were acceptable, and no movies or TV shows were acceptable except WTS videos. And only WTS publications were proper reading material.

I heard elders say that Beethoven, Picasso, Shakespeare might be resurrected but they would have to learn what they could compose, paint, write according to scriptural (WTS) standards. A frightening world I wanted no part of...I was confident that God was not so crazy.
