Mm, actually, even the venerable Insight book acknowledges what could be called evolution (see "Flood"). Creationists generally will acknowledge adaptation to a limited degree, sometimes calling it microevolution, though they draw the line at one species changing into another ("macroevolution"). So I don't detect any forward movement on that front in the literature.
Where does the Bible mention 7000 year long Creative Days?

jam, its a good one: "--no, no, --you have to get your own, not MY dirt--" and add: do it in your own, not MY time, and use '-from scratch made-' energy.
remember you live in a zero-energy universe.

dear undercover...
you said, "They also still claim that Adam was created 6000 years ago, keeping us in the last thousand years of day six."...
I don't get it?
if God is resting on the seventh day and believers, who are in Christ Jesus (2 peter 1:19; rev.22:16) have entered into God's rest (the morning after the evening...the seventh day) then unbelievers are in the evening before the morning...but still the seventh day.
does the wtbts have God creating the new heavens and new earth on His seventh day...His day of rest?

Depending on how far you look into the sky from earth, the heavens are still being created from our perspective.
Does that make sense?

myelaine, undercover should have said "day seven". 1975 was supposed to be roughly the 6,000th year since the seventh day began, with the seventh day beginning after the creation of Eve. This was the reason 1975 was thought to be the end -- the Thousand Year Reign was supposed to come by then, since it had to fit within the 7,000 years of the day of rest. That was how Franz interpreted the chronology, anyway.

dear Apognophus...
Thank you.
God sanctified the seventh day when He rested from all that He had created.
the day of the LORD is dark and gloomy and then He is roused from His holy habitation...scripture seems to indicate that the day of the LORD is the beginning of a New Day (evening then morning) for Him. He no longer rests...He comes in the evening and before the morning He has vanquished His enemies (isaiah 17:13-14; isaiah 66:12-16) so that would mean the New Day doesn't start with the millenial kingdom...it starts with the day of the LORD.
Scripture says even Jesus, who is the Sun of Righteousness, will come like a thief in the NIGHT.
