Why the Clean out of top Management

  I see good arguments for both reasons proposed.

  By culling the older members out, you remove those that have seen the most changes. People who may have gone along with doctrinal changes over the years, but in some ways have the attitudes of 40, 50 years ago.

  And, by knocking out people at a certain age, they make room for advancement. Although from what's been posted here over the years, not many are striving for those positions. And how many openings will this really create? How much difference is there between being removed as an elder at 80 and dying an elder? If they're still alive at 80, they've only got a few years left anyway. We're not talking about sweeping change here. 1%? 2%?

  And another reason, old elders are often a bit crazy and forgetful. Seen a few in action. Sometimes they start rambling while giving a talk. Some might not really realize when doctrines change because they are so set in their beliefs and keep talking about and commenting on "old light". It can get embarassing. I kinda think this is the main reason.

  i agree with jws...with them pushing towards jw.org and all that brighter light bs i am sure trying to get more younger and in line men will ease the change.

  I consider myself an armchair WT Theorist so I will give it a go.

  My personal feeling before this announced kulling of the DO's was that it would be the CO's that would go first.

  I have long thought the CO arrangement to be a outdated, cumbersome, and expensive arrangement that needed to go.

  But what the hey, they decided to start with the DO's.

  I think they are "clearing away the dead wood" all in an effort to streamline operations.

  Their goal I imagine, would be to eventually establish a direct link from congregations to GB by cutting out as many middle men as possible.

  The chain of command is only as strong as it's weakest link and middle management (DO's,CO's, and BOE's) are the weak link.

  They will always need manpower "on the ground " so to speak so they will need to retain bro's in the cong but I suspect they will eventually

  become nothing more than glorified ushers and IT technicians to keep us plugged in to GBTV.

  In reality it is a distraction, DOs are merely being compressed down to the JW herd level, assimilated with "Bethel reps" into the ranks of the COs. It is questionable COs who are really being removed in step 1. That extra authority now empowered there is to get rid of questionable elders in step 2, so that JWs can be controoled better in step 3.

  When I say questionable COs and elders, I mean the ones who may question "whether it sounds practical from a strategic or human standpoint" "at that time" when the system engineers head out to herd JWs in the events coming, maybe, this winter. (WT 11/15/2013; pg. 20, par. 17)

  So yes the "direction" is changing downward. This is a coup, that is why this is developing just prior to the event.

  Bethel is in a corporate multi-billion dollar liquidation even now, and readying final takeover mode. That whole operation is being sold to JWs as "prophecy fulfilling", so JWs will not question these coming events, they will aid them, and this tightening of the command structure is for JW damage control purposes, NOT the claims they are making. In time these intrigues will make it difficult for JWs to even hold on to their local Kingdom halls.

  The 5 to 10 billion dollar JW nestegg will be lost in the derivatives and liquidations now being undertaken, for future events, and it is really no surprise as JWs are very gullible and trusting in general, and have been disconnected from the last 40 years of world history and UN globalization developments, so the average JW is no better informed than the average citizen from 1960 really.

  This is not an overnight affair, all this has been cultured since the GB 1976 Bethel coup, this phase is just going to complete, what they started at that time. Soon the Bethel corporate network will go into a controlled implosion globally, and it will complete probably within 3 years from the time of the first big, known, event, whatever it may prove to be, it will need a catalyst event. They will sell that event to JWs as "prophecy fulfilling broothers!!". Jws won't figure out what is going on, or went on, for quite some time.

  Ultimately the goal is the complete removal of the JW ministry and religion by takeover and deconstruction of it's corporate system globally.

  ocean has put into words exactly how i was thinking.

  by removing all the old guard--many congregations--having no young men willing or capable of eldership----will slowly fade in numbers--to a point where the WTS can step in--close the congregation--sell the KH--and pocket the cash. with far fewer old employees to support in their old age.

  Also remember nu-lite is in the pipeline long before any official announcement is made.

  The sheeples spook easy so anything new needs to be introduced incrementally. (Remember,how do you boil a frog?)

  Whatever we are seeing now is just the beginning where is it leading?

  Absolute power to buy and sell, hire and fire, what they say goes, no need for the ok from cong's, elder bodies, or branches.

  No one can trade without the mark of the GB.
