Little wonder your average JW is appallingly ill-prepared for their own death, let alone those of their loved ones. I see in my own JW family a kind of infantile outlook on death: It is either blocked out immediately (e.g., let us look forward to the resurrection) or stifled into silence (i.e., denial) or both.
An unbelievable statement!!! Sadly, it's all too real!!!

Was that a quote from the Watchtower that was being summarized or did the speaker "add" that?

The thunderous applause is the scariest.
I remember my mom giddily telling me when I was a teen, "just think! You are never going to die!" And I remember her saying about 20 years later, "I'm not going to make it." She died faithful to the crazy utterings of a handful of control freaks.
What a total disconnect from reality.

More accurately, the question should have asked, " When you look at yourself in the mirror as a Jehovah's Witness, do you see a person who WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE LIFE?" [collective sigh of resignation and disillusionment]

My family is at the KC Convention, too. I think it's hilarious how all the JWs are posting pictures and chatting back and forth on instagram throughout the whole thing. In my mind I am imagining all 14,000 of them with their phones in their hand thumbing it to death.
