They may discount that there is no significance, but I suspect that more than a few will use this as a watershed year to re-evaluate their life's goals.

If not right now, in a year or two many will wake up and realize that nothing significant has happened. ZERO. And just as in the past, there will be a migration out of the religion. A watershed? No. But probably significantly more than the average number who leave each year. It won't matter to WT. They will continue on despite the ups and downs of it all just as they have all along.

Just be happy that you are not part of those still captive.

It just shows that numbers and dates can be compelling and hard to resist - and years later, when nothing has come to pass, those numbers and dates still remain confoundingly compelling and hard to resist.

The human susceptibility to "reasonable" sounding bullshit is absolutely astonishing.

cleaned brain, no no, these hundert years are just a trial run, the 8gb members and predecessors only reign temporarely over the domestics, after the raptureor martyrdom they will REALLY reign for good, 10 fold. in time. an order of magnitude more magnificant and longer.

this pre-millenium reign is a wt writer invention, still praying for the kingdom to COME.

    Offence is better than defence.

If they go all happy clappy about the 100yr old elephant in the room, nobody can accuse them of trying to avoid it.

What does it mean? LOL. What does anything mean? Why are we here? Is this life all there is?

It means the Watchtower will keep printing crap until everyone who remembers it dies off, and then they will find some more crap to print, to keep the ordinary JWs amused while they waste their lives in meaningless routine.

Great idea: All JW conventions should include stage productions of 'Waiting for Godot'. Wonder if that would cause a few mental lightbulbs to illuminate.

I think they have an unbelievable nerve to change the abysmal failure of their key prophecy, the one generation from 1914 that would see the New System, into a reason for celebration! Let's hope those with any working brain cells left will leave because of this supremely arrogant announcement.

But who is the kingdom actually ruling over? Can anyone show a single quote from a Watchtower publication in the last 20 years that categorically states WHO the kingdom has been reigning over since 1914?

yy2 in the new book kingdom rule, whatever, on nearly every page JC is described as a very benevolent Monarch, if not ruling then providing, maneuvering, testing, supporting,-- the his subjects. so if you want a read on the kings work, mostly via his earthly agents, there it is. made in germany.
