I'm an avid reader but I must say reading Crisis of Conscience at the time my mind was swirling with doubts is the one book that most influenced me.

My first college degree was in English with a history minor, the rest of my list would be too long to include much here. I need to mention The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, "1984" "Brave New World" "Lord of the Flies" and just about anything by Hemmingway and Faulkner, and if I get my sci-fi novel published, Robert Heinein, Larry Niven, and Jerry Pournelle.
TTATTelder, I am about halfway through 1984. I read it when I was about 13 years old. It has a completely different meaning for me now!
We should compare notes; or maybe we should start a thread on it!
Oubilette,
Count me in!
PM me and we can put something together.
One idea - a thread for each chapter so it can be enjoyed progressively as people read it and/or add their observations.
