I LOVE Gerry Goffin and Carole King!!!! I didn't know he wrote the Theme from Mohogany, however I knew he wrote Saving all my love for you and Crying in the rain, both of which I played on the piano all the time. Losing these gifted entertainers, singers, songwriters really has had an emotional effect on me. Not long ago I was upset that Hal David died, Kasey Casem and now Gerry Goffin. Music, especially oldies or classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s were literally the soundtrack of my life. Couldnt imagine how my life would be like without his songs. One of the greatest gifts from the good ol' USA is the gift of America's popluar songbook. All those amazing writers for the last century writing words and music sung by myraids of artists yesterday, today and forever. I just watched a Linda Ronstadt interview on AXS and that is what she said...and I believe she is right. I adore tha American pop songbook.
Well done Gerry and thank you for all the music. RIP.
