Where do JWs get their Apathy Trolley/Cart?

Before WT supplied them there was a brother in France or Spain providing them for around €100. I think this was the case for a year or so. Then suddenly congregations received a letter asking them to stop ordering them privately and the trolleys are now part of the literature order but the congregation has to pay for them separately.

As phizzy mentioned the cost a congregation has to pay in that range. The cost involves the cost of making the cart and shipping.

Splash - I can't imagine the WBT$ would turn up an opportunity to get a bit of cash....hence what Da.Furious indicates

    Eh up Punky!

I wonder what the next thing will be that they come up with to get more money coming in.
    Recently we have had
    - Specific requests for the congregation to give to our nearest assembly hall, per publisher (resolution carried)
    - The "what can you donate monthly" survey
    - A resolution (carried) to pay monthly to the branch, in place of the SKHF fund
    - A resolution (carried) to pay so much per month to replace the KHAA arrangement

I know there are more - it seems whenever there's a local need, the need is always for more money, and it's never local.

    Keep rocking!

    W'appen Rasta?

I agree it's all about money with the WBT$ and they're not even really very good at disguising it these days.

Do they realise how pathetic the apathy trolleys look? How totally lazy it all looks to passersby? Or am I seeing it from the wrong perspective? Are the apathy trolleys appealing to the average worldly punter?

They can be orderd in pairs, for about $45 each US. Publishers can ask the elders if they can order on! Then there is a site where updated signage can be ordered!

This was in a BOE letter.

Thanks Dwain - I wonder if that letter is available online?

Here is the interesting thing about the carts.

Once the congregation has their cart, where to use it?

One good place is open markets. In the U.S. these are called Farmers Markets. The way they are set up is in a booth or stall system. A person would rent a space (usually quite inexpensive) for the day.

For the JWs, the policy from headquarters is that the individual JW who checks the cart out from the literature dept must be the one who pays the fee for the daily use. He must also sign in his own name therefore assuming personal liablity for the day if someone were to trip over the cart or whatever.

The Society is not involved and assumes NO liability in the entire process.

Of course, any donations are to be handed over to them...

Sounds about right. Don't give a bloke an honest income....give the WBT$ all the money and let him die!!!!
