Rules on blood also apply to our pets

While researching something else, I came across these two comments from a WT on how we should view the blood issue, when it comes to our pets.

    *** w64 2/15 p. 127 Questions From Readers ***
"Would it be a violation of the Scriptures for a Christian to permit a veterinarian to give blood transfusions to a pet? By all means, to do so would be a violation of the Scriptures."

"What, then, of animal food? May it be used if there is reason to believe there is blood in it? As far as a Christian is concerned, the answer is No, on the basis of principles already mentioned."

The WT goes on to make the point that an animal can kill and eat another animal including it's blood, but that would be down to the animal, and not a Christian who has chosen to feed it blood.

Don't forget, to do otherwise "would be a violation of the Scriptures latest wacky idea that has no scriptural basis".

WT has also taken the same idiotic stance on what kinds of pets a JW owns. If you have piranhas, for example, which feed on live fish, the JW becomes 'bloodguilty' for having piranhas, because they feed them live fish.

If the whole process offends Jehovah™ so much, why did he make it that way?

    .

Hey, Splash: this 1964 article shows that WT's blood policies also applies to plants:

"But now, what about fertilizer that has blood in it? One who is going to show respect for God’s law on blood would not use it."

On the farm, our cats regularly caught and ate mice. This would include everything except the bladder/entrails. Guess that stuff tasted like shiite.

All animals living in the wild die and their blood is consumed by other animals and organisms. Sometimes it is spilt on the ground. Guess everything God made is in contradiction to the Watchtower.

How irrational the Society could be was experienced by the sister-in-law of ex-bethelite William Cetnar when . . .

at the suggestion of her veterinarian, she had a blood transfusion given to her poodle to prolong its life. She couldn't believe Bill [Cetnar] when he told her that the Society would say she had violated God's law. At his urging she wrote the Society on the matter and the response she received informed her that she had done wrong. Phyllis thought that this was ridiculous. She wrote again and asked if her cat eating a mouse would also be a problem; was this too against God's law? She was told that she should keep the cat under restraint and be more careful in handling it. She thought to herself, "How many cats have I seen which have drained the blood of their mouse victim before eating it?"

Maybe pets should be disfellowshipped for having sex outside of marriage too.

Also your dog should be disfellowshipped for fetching 'apostate material' that you have thrown away.

blood was on her little paws

by eating mice she broke the laws

and now no one can speak to her

no matter how much she would purr

    .

If a dog dry humps your leg is it "brazen conduct"?

If a JC takes action, do they put restrictions on the dog's butt sniffing privileges?

I've seen more than a few cats who could be disfellowshipped for gluttony.

    Ludicrous!

Yeah, the abstaining from blood prohibition from the apostles was directed to animals! are you kidding me?
