  As soon as the inevitable planning consents are granted, the money-men in Brooklyn & Mill Hill will get together to prepare begging [guilt-inducing] letters for all the congregations in the U.K. territory, to "contribute" more of their cash to build this wonderful new edifice of praise!!! [to the Org!] Then the pillaging of KH bank accounts will be completed in the UK.

  How many will have the guts to ask why it isn't being self-financed by the proceeds of the existing London facilities and residential properties?

  Property prices in London have soared by almost 20% in the past year - the IBSA & WTBTS of Great Britain are sitting on a goldmine right now!

  Come on publishers, dig deeper into your pockets!!!

  I wonder how they justify wanting so much land these days? Maybe they are thinking that if there is another financial collapse then physical assets such as land may be one way of protecting their millions.

  My comment can go into several posts, but i thought this is the most relevant one to the topic.

  During the weekend I had the privilege of talking to couple of brother on some aspects of the new changes that are happening, nothing spiritual.

  During the discussion the new bethel topic opened and what I heard was news to me:

  - The branch office is reducing the amount of volunteers for building the new facilities due to the fact that building flats to accommodate them will increase the costs.

  - Based on above, the branch is appointing external companies to do the bulk or major building work

  - Several brothers have been approached to send their bids for the construction work

  - Reason for new letters send, was underestimated expenses – in other word bad planning.

  - Some of the flats will get built and then will be sold for the public, I presume witnesses only but not sure how they can pull this off in UK.

  - Now waiting for final approval from GB to go on with the new bethel after major changes to the planning occured

  A couple of things occur to me, one is that this must be the BIGGEST construction project that the JW Org is undertaking anywhere in the World !

  Warwick is only a H Q , and is bigger than most other projects, but this is Printeries, blocks of Apartments and all sorts.

  The full cost of this Project cannot be known, cleaning up a scrap Car dump/Gypsy camp is fraught, discarded catalytic convertors etc leaching all sorts in to the soil may mean a super polluted Site.

  The other thing I reckon is that they are being a bit cagey in their Application, and they will apply for more building once it is approved.
