You make an interesting point ADCMS, they have their own Bible why not their own dictionary aswell.

The new book DOES mention the " Millions Now Living Will Never Die" talk.

Loesch had another talk, the one on 100 years of History. Mentioned the talk entitled "Millions Now Living Will Never Die". He said specifically that the brothers back then did not really mean THAT... what they meant was that millions of our BROTHERS in the FUTURE would never die..

    This is extremely weird.

We had our RC 3 weeks ago, and we were also "privileged" to sleep to listen to Loesch.

In that same talk, he made the same parenthetical pause....and made the exact opposite statement!

He clearly and explicitly said that the brothers did notrefer to milllions of JWs who would come into the organization and survive Armageddon...but instead the old view was that millions of non-JWs would survive Armageddon, and those were the "millions" who would never die.

That statement, made 3 weeks ago, is the historically factual one. The JW/IBSA view of Armageddon, until the 30's, was that millions of "innocent" non-worshippers of Jehovah would be spared at Armageddon.

Why contradict himself, and more significantly, deliberately lie, just 3 weeks later? Did the WTS receive a bunch of letters asking for clarification? Did more "prominent" GB members call him on the carpet for daring to speak the truth?

    Very odd.

I've seen Loesch talk several times, both in person and in videos and I've also heard a few audio only recordings. Between my direct experiences with his presentations and the many, many comments about his talks here on JWN I have come to this conclusion concerning Loesch: he is a bumbling fool that frequently stumbles over his own thoughts.

My assessment is that "The Truth" is too complicated for him to keep straight.

"There was the part about not associating with DF relatives. His wording was that we could associate with them and show them respect, as long as we were discreet. (open-ended and non-commital language).... And why must we harp on PORNOGRAPHY and HOMOSEXUALS in every part?"

You need to understand how all these truthz tie together. What they meant was you could look at porn and engage in homosexuality as long as you're discreet about it.

did not have This today here in Paris...in the "family ties" talk the guy did say, and i quote word by word: "some of our relatives may get angry as we do not associate AT ALL with disfellowshipped family members.but to whom are we going to Say NO? To Jéhovah or to our family? We do not want to Say no to jehovah..."

no mention of "discreet relation" here...teaching is still the same...i guess your speaker took some liberty with the plan...

@ Designer Stubble, that image of Rutherford is a bit disturbing.

With regard to Loesch's assertion that you should play the Bible recordings, on a daily basis, for children that are too young to read reminds me of a childhood experience:

When I lived on Santa Catalina, the next door neighbor lady was moving back to the mainland and decided she wanted to give me her two young Parakeets (cage, cuttlebone, etc.).

Along w/ the birds, she included a couple of records that were intended to teach the feisty things to talk. Basically, each side just played the same phrase, over and over, and you put it on your turntable/changer and just let it run all day.

It actually worked and one of my birds finally piped up w/; "canaries are cute, but they can't talk".

Of course the birds don't actually understand what they're saying but we're expected to believe that toddlers can assimulate all 66 books and gain instant enlightenment. I find this interesting, considering that JW doctrine has changed so much in the last 20 years that it is obvious that a lot of blue-haired adults, that have been reading the Bible for years, are apparently confused as to its meaning. Additionally, isn't it counter-productive to allow them to absorb this information in its raw, unadulterated (read that, uninterpreted) state?

With the exception of the possibility of the these young ones being able to recite arcane verse by-rote, how do they (Loesch) expect them to benefit without receiving guidance?
