    I am amazed that my JW mother believes that after the big A the world will be just like it was; only paradise. Do you see the problem?

    I have brought up the dead bodies to bury, the destroyed buildings etc. "Oh, well Jehovah will take care of us."

    As far as printing material after the big A, would it not seem logical that people, being perfect afterall, will not need written word to recall something...it will be told in story fashion and the perfect person reciting it will tell it perfectly to the perfect person hearing it...there will be no wrong stories, etc.

    Fatal, BTW, I am not in any way attacking you, what you wrote reminded me of hearing that also. The dubs were such a strong part of my life (still are through my mother and her family) that I get riled up when I think about the things I was taught...and believed.

    I honestly do not recall if it was something put into print (the printing will need to go on after). I would guess this was asked (probably still is) and some elder (or his wife) said printing will be necessary. I cannot believe the society would say this on paper. It sounds so stupid! The big question is HOW!!!!

    "there are only ... what .... 6 million JW's, another 5 mil that attend the memorial, yet they print halg a billion Watchtowers. Go figure!"

    The old joke used to be that they were stacked at the bottom of my wardrobe, all the unplaced copies, now too old yet I did not like to throw away .

    Many dubs take home far more than they need ,especially since they do not have to make a specific payment for them - just a donation in the honesty box "W W W Fund"

    Np Puffsrule, I don't take your comments as an attack

    What i was told was that people wouldn't be perfect immediately, that they will gradually attain that "spiritual perfectness", and that the earth wouldn't be a paradise immediately, that a period of time would elapse during which we, as God's people, would rebuild the earth into a paradise, and teach the resurrected, giving them the choice as to whether they wanted to accept the theocratic government.

    There will thus be a second seperation of people amongst the ressurected and the surviving JWs. The remaining will then be free of all bodily desires etc...

    Please bear in mind what I say aren't necessarily my beliefs, I'm just narrating past discussions with my study conductor and other JWs.

    He also said there'd be no more sexual relations, which distressed me somewhat!

    I mean, if we're gonna be living on earth, and not attain that ultimate spiritual closeness to Christ that the annointed supposedly will, surely we should be entitled to simple pleasure??

    BluesBrother,

    Some of them sell them on Ebay to collectors for a quick profit... A simple search for watchtower brings up a ton of hits, and not just for old publications either!

    The numbers on this site are not correct, at least for JW's. The biggest boom years the JW's ever had saw maybe a bit over 300,000 baptized. This page claims they have over 400,000 new members in 2002 just since Jan. 1. No way! The other statistics are similarly skewed.

    BTW, the gospel clock really isn't a clock...they are using set numbers to do the calculations, instead of real time data. I assume they got ahold of one number or another that the WT spews from year to year and used it to formulate current publication stats/JW activity. Some of their code...

    Meter42 = string((secsToday) * 0.00006672);//Jehovah's Witnesses congregations
    Meter43 = string((secsSince) * 0.00006672) //Jehovah's Witnesses congregations year
    Meter44 = string(((secsSince) * 0.00006672) + 91487); //Jehovah's Witnesses congregationstotal

    Meter30 = string((secsToday) * 0.0091612); //Jehovah's Witnesses todayMeter31 = string((secsSince) * 0.0091612); //Jehovah's Witnesses year
    Meter32 = string(((secsSince) * 0.0091612) + 6035564); //Jehovah's Witnesses total

    Sincerely,

    When you think about living forever, with no fun (sex, alcohol of choice etc.) why would you want to? I would prefer to just be dead.

    On this web site http://communities.msn.com/JehovahsWitnessesontheWeb/homepage.msnw

    there is discussion on what will people's jobs be after armageddon....how depressing. I, as a child, thought we would lie around, play with wild animals and sun ourselves!

    Would it not get boring? I would not want to teach all the dead about where they were etc...let them figure it out!

    Neon, I think you are correct. The numbers of JW's is jumping slowly on the page, which does not make sense.

    That's pretty much what I told him, the last time he said "Isn't that nice...?" when talking about everlasting life. Just told him I'm not so sure, after a couple of hundred years it might get a bit dull, don't you think?

    I didn't get a reply unfortunately, lol!
