    I agree with OneEyedJack ...

The announcement we had had to do with the ministry school and service meeting "when the circuit overseer visits".

We currently have 4 congs in our hall (had 5 for several years) and we have the Thursday night meeting. Yes, it is inconvenient for some that are into the same routine I must admit. Just a lot of unnecessary talk about who is going to which other congregation or if someone says they may just stay home.

Not a big issue for some but the sheeple find changes to routines distressing. Between our own cong and the other 3 and the CO coming twice a year, it results in meeting changes for us, on average, about every 6 weeks.

Honestly I'd expect this to happen in time if they are re-inventing the religion(cult). But we would have heard by now so this is highly suspect.

The more meetings the more control and brainwashing. Book studies went a few years ago, but that may have been more for liability reasons.

One less meeting also means one less chance for people to drop something into the donation box. Forget to donate on Sunday, it's another week before you can. By that time, you may have spent your donation and won't give double next week.

Like baldar says, if they totally change their model. Release the tight grip they have on their flock, go mainstream, then I could see it. But I figure that's too far off. You'd have to have major change at the top with not only a change of the old guard, but a crop of liberal thinkers.

I bet most JWs would be happy to see the evening meetings go away, but that would mean they would have to to have a life and pursue other interests, and you know mother can't have that. Not going to happen.

    They will never do that.

Psychologists will tell you that the key to a successful cult is the never ending pounding on the human mind. They need those meetings to continue to reinforce the brain washing.

    Won't happen.

This cannot be true. I always read about new upcoming announcements on the internet before they are ever announced at the meeting. I have faith in our "secret agents" that they would let the internet community know first.

Besides, I can't see them ever getting rid of the Ministry School. That is considered their training sessions to go out and preach, and I can't see them ever stopping that either, despite the speculation I have read online.

For the DC now RC, the weekday meetings were not held. Now just one weekday....I'm sure this was said:

Brothers and sisters, our regional convention is next week and there will be no meeting on Tuesday (or Thursday depending when the congregation holds it). This will us time to prepare and pack for the convention. Continue your personal study of the material.

In my opinion Bethel is gearing up to drop all the meetings, including sunday. It is part of the "when the preaching works comes to an end" preparation.

Except the world system will keeping heading to world government, Bethel is preparing JWs for the end of the organization. There are too many reasons to support this self fulfilling prophecy to cover here, but the billion dollar liquidation in the US alone should give on the idea of what Bethel is really up to.

Since there is no scriptural precedent for such a "preaching work comes to an end" mandate, it seems Bethel is internally part of more than just the UN NGO, their public signal of true affiliation.

In my opinion, Bethel will simply call the preaching work off before they go into a two year long organizational litigatory seizure, and in this way JWs are already programmed to accept it as "prophecy fulfilling y'all!!".

JWs will be the last to figure out the whole ministry just got pawned. The predicitve programming and handy theological "self fulfilling prophecy" aids concealing reality from JWs through the whole final operation.

At such time you can tell JWs what is really going on.

    Never.

They need as many indoctrination sessions as possible each week!

If the midweek meeting was discontinued, then witnesses might start to use their critical thinking skills and become worldly in the 7 days between indoctrination sessions!
