My cat Lizzie is restless today. She brought me her favorite toy (the beloved stick, string, raffia thingie) we played that for a while. She played the evil twin game, growling at her reflection in the closet door mirror, back arched, tailed fluffed out. She played the attack the bath mat game, darn you evil bath mat! I found some turkey feathers on my morning walk, brought them home, Lizzie found them and had a good time, throwing them down the stairs and catching them.

I saw this year's crop of Turkey babies, walking down the street near our house, at least ten babies, accompanied by four mamas Turkey's. I also saw an egret at the duck pond.

Well, LisaRose, your neighborhood sounds overrun by fowl. Cute about Kitty!

We have a lake here and it's cool to see the geese swimming with their tiny goslings (no ryans) in tow. There were three couples -- goose and gander -- and each had 6 fluff balls madly paddling away in very close proximity.

    THANKS!

My experiences with wildlife lately..................lessee.....last month we were playing golf in Mexico and there was a big ol' black and white snake on my tee box....Mr Bee shooed it off......somehow it wasn't a really scary episode because it was all open area............

Last week there were a couple of coyotes on our regular golf course......felt a little cautious..........but had a golf club in my hand............

OMG! I just got it......."no ryans"...........

    I live in a wood.

Lucky man! I go to the local National Trust property to see deer. They have red and fallow deer in the woods there.

I do have an ash tree and a field maple as well as some smaller trees in my garden so I get plenty of birds. Gold finches, long tailed tits, robins, starlings, blackbirds and once a woodpecker. I have a tiny pond so I see frogs usually and dragon flies.

    Enjoy your wood CC.

I live in a high rise with rooftop gardens and I am so high up

the birds nest above my balcony and swoop down the

corridors between the buildings and sit on balconies and

land on my balcony and sing to each other in the mornings.

There is a high rise under constuction with huge towering

metal cranes that operate during the day, but as soon as

the workers leave, the ravens come in a mob and perch

    on the construction equipment.

We have a huge variety of Birds visit our garden, all the usual ones, plus a Green Woodpecker and two Spotted Woodpeckers and their baby. We have loads of rabbits, despite the resident fox, he/she finds it easier to catch Pigeons it seems.

Overhead there regularly flies a Heron, visiting one or other of the adjacent lakes/ponds, he looks like a Pterodactyl to me.

Sounds idyllic, but I have to tell you we live close to two Main Roads, so it is never peaceful here.

Here at the oceanfront it's the amazing pelicans flying in formation and the osprey carrying a fish in their claws on it's last ride in the sky. The happy calls of the seagulls and the fish crows making alot of complaining noises about whatever it is they are upset about.

Wonderful waking up to your bird and beastie "tails," Mrs. Bee, Xan, villagegirl, Phizzy and Nancy!

Living in a city is hardly Walden Pond, but Nature is present there nonetheless.

    THANKS for sharing!

Lots of raccoons and an occasional deer. Once, a young wild boar started coming in the yard in the afternoons. He would lie on his side and sleep.
We petted and scratched him, and as we did, he made a sound indicating extreme pleasure; it was sort of a cross between a pigeon's cooing and a cat's purring. He was really playful - would jump in the air and twist his body as a goat does.

Thanks, Magnum, for your cool tale.

I never would have thought that a boar could not be boorish! Wonders never cease . . .

    Good night!
