following .... The blood doctrine was one of the main reasons I finally woke up to the fact that this religion is a farce .

THANK YOU LEE ELDER !! Your website helped me so much back in 2006 when I was starting to question my 44 yrs as a JW .

Jwgonebad...what that JW did NOT say was "a jw does not DA themselves by taking blood" Until he says THAT, I don't see any change.

(Remember, these are the same people who look you in the eye and say they don't shun former members)

    Note to Bethel Monitors!:

If this discreet change is real and truthful, it is excellent. However, if this involves yet more lies about blood transfusion, it is very short-sighted and will only cause more harm to the Organization. There was significant embarrassment at Paterson after the Bulgarian Blood scandal was exposed.

Let it go. End this costly mess. If this is done in steps, it will succeed and five years from now, some Witnesses will actually say, "what blood ban?'

To the rest I say that true compassion is not without cost. As much as I would wish revenge, it is best that no more innocent lives are lost, especially children.

There is no longer an annual distribution and signing of a "No Blood Card"

or Advanced Directive. Beginning in 2004 they switched to a one time Durable

Power of Attorney - designed and printed according to the laws of each

individual state. What does appear to have changed is the annual service

meeting part to remind everyone of the importance of having the form and

carrying the pocket sized version with them at all times. The last time there

was a regularly scheduled such meeting was in January of 2012 per the

WTS publication Our Kingdom Ministry. This does represet a change in a

long standing policy but it is difficult to interpret.

At least my wifes family has someone with an ounce of sanity. My wife just told me that her dads grandmother just moved in with them because she can't care for herself. She is not a JW and never has been. She is in need of lots of medical care and for whatever reason one thing she needs is blood. This guy moves her in and then says he won't take her to see the doctor because of this. What a great guy. His wife at least told him that it isn't her belief and drove her to her appointment.

I have never been to your website but I will check it out. Thanks.

Lee Elder: 'The last time there was a regularly scheduled such meeting was in January of 2012 per the WTS publication Our Kingdom Ministry.'

So we’ve gone through the entire year of 2012……260,000 (average) newly baptized publishers plus their children. Add to that-the entire year of 2013 ….another 260,000 (average) newly baptized publishers plus their children. Now we’ve gone through the entire year of 2014 (considering there is no Service Meeting part re: DPAs from now through Dec 2014)…..another 260,000 (average) newly baptized publishers plus their children.

By this year’s end that amounts to between 780,000 and 1,000,000+ unprotected JWs with no DPAs on their person in case of an emergency due to no parts on the Service Meetings reminding newly baptized JWs plus their children plus those who for whatever reason need a DPA replacement-of the need to fill out a DPA!

Mind you the above figures do not include all the interested ones that ‘Mother’ claims are streaming to ‘Jehovah’s’ mountain of true worship due to the constant promotion of www.jw.org.

In my estimation there is one hell of a lot of unprotected JWs out there. Why is that? As I said before….Me thinks ‘Mother’ is up to no good with this doctrine! It's a matter of what is coming down the pipe!

My understanding is that newly bapitized individuals are given the DPA.

The fact that there is no yearly reminder to make sure its completed and

carried at all times is clearly a change. I think its difficult to interpret

why this change was made. It may well be indicative of something - I'm

just not sure what. I have a private email from a current HLC member

from yesterday stating that there has been no change and the material

from the District Convention this year implies no change. So it may be that

the elders have a letter from 2013 or perhaps a verbal or written instruction from

their KM (elder) school that the Secretary will see to it that any newly

bapitized individual receives and completes a DPA.

I only wish that my family would read the article put up on AJWRB. They are still adamant that a blood transfusion is a sure way to get Aids, Hepatitus or something else nasty

Then ask them to read the links at the end of the article instead.

They would also benefit from this article written by a non-JW physician.

Saying no to blood carries its own greater set of risks.
