I see many posters commenting on the unreasonableness vs reasonableness of these arguments.
Evidently(TM) they are unable to come to terms with the fact(TM) that these decisions that ban blood and blood products (excluding fractions) are FROM GOD.

The Watctower proves that The Bible is a mess: All fractions were under Scriptural ban in 1956, but in 2001 all fractions derived from the four primary components are permitted. Also, according to the Watchtower, blood transfusion is the same as fornication. So, currently, the Watchtower allows fractioned fornication.

Today Watchtower says blood fractions are a Godsend! It was a different story in the 1960s!
The 9/15/61 Watchtower pg 558 par 16:
"......Is God's law violated by such medical use of blood? Is it wrong to sustain life by infusions of blood or plasma or red cells or the various blood fractions? Yes!"
As Lee Elder highlights in his article, WT's stance on blood and blood fractions is ever changing!

An invaluable rexource that shows how thoroughly inconsistent the Watchtower's blood ban is. What rings men and women run around their beliefs in order to assert their hodge podge views are of God. The Watchtower ban is madness personified. The madness is all the more astonishing given the untold number of Witnesses who have died following their organization's blood ban.

I'm inclined to think that the well worn phrase 'abstain from blood...' could have referred to blood shedding..not ingestion of blood. ..
