This was taken in the parking lot of the Atlanta Convention site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLJJV-ljNRI

If these people are truly enjoying themselves, more power to them. I cannot blame them for trying to have fun. What sets my hairs on fire is that all these planned entertainment events at the international conventions this year are part of a contrived re-branding by WTBT$. Someone has convinced them that this sort of party atmosphere is necessary for the new image even though, had any of us put on a dance party in the parking lot of any convention there would have been executions right after the keynote address on Sunday.

Something stinks to high heaven about all this stuff.

Totally agree Darth Fader. It might be forced fun but I cant decide if its better or worse than the turgid boringness that's usual at a convention. The only thing I used to enjoy at DC's were the lovely Hellas chocolate bars they sold at lunch.

I lol'ed at the keynote address statement, Darth

NWT- I never got any of the chocolate bars. The only thing I looked forward to at the old DC's as a kid was for a couple of years the chocolate and vanilla puddings were partially frozen. It was a simple joy in a very spartan environment.

I agree with Darth Fader as well. More power to them if they're enjoying it, and there is nothing wrong with having fun, especially during conventions where all you do is sit for hours on and listen. What does bother me is the special treatment given to these people when the Watchtower criticizes other religions for giving certain members special privileges. They make it a huge event and congregations treat them like VIP. People crowd around them. It's also odd to think about this going on in a convention site, imagine if it was not done for the international delegates and just the average members.

I respectfully disagree with those of you who say "more power to them". And the thread title is 50% right. It should be "JWs can't party and can't dance".

The problem is not what's going on, but who's doing it and their attitude and mindset. They're goody-goody and smug and self-righteous. They're like "look at us. We have the one and only true religion, but we're still hip and cool." But they're not even close to being hip and cool; they're corny and cheesy. They're just followers who can't think for themselves. They don't know how to have fun. This is a group of ignorant, naive nerds trying to give the impression they can be cool. I have seen another video of this event that shows more so how corny, nerdy, etc. they are.

I would say more power to them if I saw them riding wet bikes or mountain-biking or hiking or snow skiing or water skiing or taking classes and/or reading books to lift them out of their ignorant, naive, brainwashed state. I would even say more power to them for dancing and playing music if they weren't corny and goody-goody.

Haven't all of you seen somebody trying to be hip and cool when he isn't? It just doesn't work. Have you ever seen some privileged boy who grew up in the suburbs and whose mama brushed his teeth until he was 14 trying to rap as though he's been hardened by life. It just doesn't work. It's embarassing.

Darth Fader - "The only thing I looked forward to at the old DC's as a kid was for a couple of years the chocolate and vanilla puddings were partially frozen."

I remember those; I loved 'em, too.

I could never successfuly duplicate them at home.

I can't believe what I just saw. Ten years ago that would have been considered loose conduct and everyone could have been DF. My dad in rolling in his grave now. I remember when my wife and I was married we have polka music playing and we was almost kick out for being so bad. Wt. has finally gone quackers. LOL Still Totally ADD
