As soon as they get the logo tattoo the Borg will be in the works of creating a new design.Ya know that entire new light stuff. It would be cool to have a ton of tatts of the past-present watchtower logos. It would be like a calendar with days scratched out.

I have seen (and posted) claims that dubs are ordering lapel pins of the logo [unofficially from private display goods firms] It is now a substitute for the cross as their symbol....There are those who don't like this trend of course , many oldies feel left behind and I love the comment from Zoos' acquaintance. I guess it says it all.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised they didn't even keep the outline of the Watchtower symbol.

I've seen it too. A 20-somthing son of a former JW friend of mine replaced his FB profile pic with the logo. It makes my heart sink to see the promising smart funny attractive kids of my friends happily drinking the kool-aid and offering it to others.

They've faded the watchtower symbol because its modern secular usage is negative loaded towards modern prisons- and that's not due to anything the Witnesses have done (although some will think it is fitting!).
In secular society, a watchtower is a overarching structure that is built to tower over a panopticon. The panopticon design is used in institutions and especially in penitentiaries where the centrally located watchtower is a viewing platform whereby staff can closely monitor the behavior of inmates.
Hell, if the watchtower were my beloved symbol, I'd want to be changing it too.

My inactive (20+yrs now) dad and uber righteous elder/pioneer brother were in Home Depot the other day. Two JW "sisters" came over and gave hugs. While gushing about the convention they showed off their JW.org wristbands...roflmao. My dad said that my brother just gave a perfunctory "oh those are nice" comment and walked away to look for wood for his project... lol.
