Samuel Herd said we should preach wherever we are told to, even if there are bullets flying everywhere and dead bodies found in the territory.

"I listened from the 15 minute mark to the 22 minute mark.
Mostly through those 7 minutes he kept mentioning that Jehovah is with you. He was with Noah and Noah wasn't afraid.
Pure BRAINWASHING!!!
He said in areas of unrest in Chicago from gang warfare, 2 sisters walked around a dead, headless body and called the proper authorities, and still continued out!!! He suggested (?) to go with a group of 8, made up of 4 men and 4 women. As 2 talk, the other 6 stand around for protection. (I think that was his word).
He said the gangs are watching us.
BUT "Jehovah", (the warrior god of the Israelites) "will stand by us, when we need him the most".
My words... THAT IS A BLATANT LIE!!! "
...
This excellent point is worth repeating for anyone just joining us. -

It's easy to send the troops in to battle when your sitting at the Watchtower HQ enjoying soft-swirl ice-cream. Weird that the Bible tells of Paul the Apostle wanting to head in to the District of Asia but warned by the Holy Spirt "Don't go because it's too dangerous!". The Holy Spirit revealed to Paul and Barnabas "Step on over in to Macedonia and Help Us! They are evil leaders willing to allow their members to rot in jail for decades because they enjoy testing their subjects via the Theocratic Test-Tubes.
http://biblehub.com/acts/16-6.htm Read the theories on why the two Apostles were told to "Stay out of the District of Asia!' and you will understand how wicked Samuel Herd's words are!

I have heard of the WT suspending the FS work in areas where it was deemed dangerous. What ever happened to that rationale?

Each different Governing Body member is allowed to have their individual idiosyncrasies with Anthony it's Sparlock type toys, with Stephan Lett it is xenophobia, Freddy Franz its plaid shirts, with Sam Herd it's going out in service durring air raid drills and heavy machine gun fire, etc....

Yes, exactly. COs have their idiosyncracies too, as we've talked about here many times. Even believing JWs know that sometimes you just have to treat talks given by the high muck-a-mucks with a grain of salt.
It's like when you have one of those drive-by managers who likes to stop by your desk and say ridiculous things like, "We should put this [poorly thought-out, really inefficient] new procedure into effect going forward." Do you get all worked up over it? No, because you know he's not going to be sticking around to make you follow through on it. So you just nod your head like you think it's a good idea, then get back to business as usual when he goes away.

And for what? So someone can be added to the mass of energy the draconians have to use to give us universal communism? I will not go into any area where there is unreasonable risk of major personal injury just so I can possibly spread damnation--whether it be from getting shot, from traffic, dogs, or dangerous driving conditions. I will not even give up one lonely silver dime for that humanoid scumbag, let alone getting seriously hurt just so that thing can send the energy to its draconian buddies.

It reminds me of JWs during WWII who were imprisoned in Nazi conentration camps. They risked their lives as free people, and again as prisoners, to smuggle-not Bibles- but the Watchtower magazine. Their allegiance was to WT and its theology because it was "god's organization".
And look at what they risked freedom and life for: doctrines that were taught then as "absolute truth", so important to a JW they'd risk all for it, have largely been discarded as nonsense (old light) and are no longer relevant to JWs today, barely a blip in WT history. JWs paying with their lives for beliefs that weren't worth the paper they were written on.
Today: WT is still telling JWs to risk their lives to spread a message that no doubt will be trashed/modified/minimized as time goes by, and the message/doctrines JWs now feel is worth their lives to preach will be snickered at by future JWs as merely the silliness of WT's past as it "progressed".
