It seems a bit of a cheek. Whatever happened to Pastor Russells " we will never solicit funds " maxim.
The WTBTS of Britain is hardly short of cash- they've just spent 1 million GBP on a house in Wales to apparently house translators of the Societies literature into Welsh ( surely something that could have been done out of an office in Bethel or even a JW's own home. )
The current Society accounts look pretty healthy , boosted by all the cash that they've got from the individual congregations.

And of course , not withstanding the huge windfall profit the Society will make on selling the prime properties in the North of London. London real estate is up nearly 25% in the last year.
If I was still in , I'd frankly tell them to use their own money. Stick a big round ZERO on the form. What guys like Steven Hardy don't realise is that times are hard for the average working person who doesn't live in a rent free apartment getting everything done for them.
