We rarely see them and when we do it's never a large group (or even a small group) - usually just a pair of 'diehards'

I guess for me there is some benefits of being DF'd for seven years. They have never been to my house..not one.
You know I was thinking the other day that when I was a JW I thought the elders were supposed to visit once a year if you were DF'd to see if you had a change of heart. Has that changed too? Just wondering.

Leslie, seems that since the higher up JWs can judge your heart, if yours had changed they would've come by!

It's been three years, at the very least, since I've seen an elderly JW couple in door-to-door service anywhere in the areas where I live and work, which represent a range from "small, but lively town, perfect for door-to-door witnessing" to "big city". Please note I saw them on the street (anyone without JW experience probably wouldn't have noticed they were JWs), it's not that they actually ever knocked on my door.
There's just this one guy that I've known since I was a little kid, standing alone on the same street corner every day for an hour or two (he used to be there longer, but he's obviously having health problems due to his age). Without my JW experience, I'd probably think he's just a beggar or something.
So I have to agree: where are those locusts? Where is the spectacle to the whole world?

Dear Will Power;
Hmmmmm that would be my guess also...considering my ex still partakes of the emblems I would assume I have been labeled beyond redemption. Probably true!!! hahahahah
LeslieSometimes it is good to be labeled an apostate.

The locals don't know where I live, don't know I used to be a JW. Even though I'm not 2 miles from a KH and live in a populated area, I have not seen ONE in 3+ years. Come to think of it, didn't see one in the last town I lived in either.
Hmm, the locusts are not too bad this year ...

They are being sent back to the abyss?

We've lived in our current house for 9 years. The only JW I can recall coming to the house stopped by to leave the "special tract" of earth-shaking proportions at our door. They rang the bell once, then took off before I could even get to the door.
Other than that, there has been no one who has called. The only evidence I have found of their presence was when we first moved in, and I found an old Watchtower stuffed into a very inaccessible place on the front porch. I think someone was claiming the house for themselves for after Armageddon, since the mag certainly wasn't put anywhere where the householder (me) could find it easily.

I lived in Iowa for 18 years, and was visited twice in that time by JWs. Two years in Missouri, never. Two years in Vermont, never. Now we've been in Sacramento for 16 months, and have had witnesses at the door once, in the park twice, and outside my partner's building downtown every weekday. She notes that the "street witnessing" here is almost as aggressive as the panhandling. I don't know what they've got in the water, but it seems like there's a lot of enthusiasm for the preaching work.
