Jehovah’s Witnesses in USA - prefer a bigger government providing more services and involved in regulating morality .

Interesting that Jehovah’s Witnesses who don't vote, even got on this graph.

" What are the political positions of religions and churches in America?

This new graph maps the ideologies of 44 different religious groups using data comes from Pew’s Religious Landscape survey.

This survey included 32,000 respondents. It asked very specific questions on religion that allow us to find out the precise denomination, church, or religion of each person.

(yes, there are some disagreements about whether some groups should be coded as evangelical (e.g., Seventh Day Adventist) or even Christian or not (e.g., Jehovah’s Witness). We can debate these decisions in a future post " .

Who cares? We need a strong central government in these times. No one is going to give up Medicare. Furthermore, the clear trend is to not regulate morality. See U.S. Supreme Court and gay marriage. People are demanding a zone of privacy. The Witnesses are NOT neutral. They never have been. I had so many welfare cheats in my KH. If they want to be neutral, don't use the federal/state/county highway grid. No ambulances or paramedics. No police. The list is endless. Even the ones not on welfare are welfare cheats.

JWs in general, lack the moral center to take responsibility for themselves. They are coasting through life, doing as little as possible until Jesus takes the wheel. This is especially true of the "Arena Floor/Special Needs" class. The generation before me will soon be taking their place. My generation ( born in the 70's ) seems to have wiser up a bit. We have real jobs and work hard. We see those before us dying off with nothing but empty dreams.

There is a rare class of younger Elders and pioneers. These had big-shot JW parents. They are total company men and women. They definitely mooch off of the system. We pay for their health care as they do nothing but clean floors two nights a week.

Why wouldnt JWs want a strong government? They pray for a King to kill off most of the Earths population. They love a good communist dictatorship.

It's interesting to me that when I was younger my views also strongly favored a strong central government that legislated morality. As I grew more and more disillusioned with the cult, however, I also identified more and more as a libertarian.

I think in order to be a JW you have to believe that it is possible for a small group of people to be able to determine what's best for everyone. It makes sense that if that view changes in one area, it might change in another. I never really thought about how those changes in my outlook coincided before.

The best kind of Government is one that cares for its Subjects as much as is necessary, and interferes with their personal freedoms as little as possible.

Once we allow Government to dictate too much in our personal lives we become subject to any loony ideas that the ones in power may embrace, with little recourse to do anything about it.

To a great degree that is where we are today, but more leaning in the direction of a "Nanny State" is to be avoided at all costs, or it will be like living in JW.Org Land, endless Rules and Regs, Rigid Control and no freedom to live a real life.

I'm not making fun of people with health issues. We all have them. There is a very distinct group of JWS who gave up even trying because Jeehoober will fix it. Of course, the WTBTS continues to encourage this behavior. The few paultry articles on health that they have released pale in comparison to their live for the WTBTS articles.

What JW's most prefer is that the government keep the peace "in order that we may go on leading a calm and quiet life with full godly devotion and seriousness." (1Tim 2:1,2; Jer 29:7)

I find your statement disingenuous and further proof that JWs want a bunch of crap but are unwilling to lift a finger to get it.

You cite 1 Timothy 2:1,2: " First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life..."

I was a JW for many years and I never once heard a prayer or intercession from a single JW on behalf of a king or president. I guess even in that regard it's better to mooch off the efforts of others.

JWs pray for holy spirit to guide the GB every Wednesday. After all, the GB are the only Kings that matter. That's why they instituted " Ass Wednesday".
