Your post reminded me of a story I heard recently from an ex jw who no longer is too interested in the Org. I have no reason to doubt his story. However he told me this story in a crowded room and it was noisy and my hearing is not that good so I didn’t get all the details and always meant to get more specific as to time and place etc. I will try to relate this the best I can.

There was a mafia boss, in upper NY state I believe, let’s call him Uncle Mafia. Uncle Mafia had a Beautiful Niece, who became enamoured with a JW, and she became one. Uncle Mafia, Catholic , did not like Beautiful Niece leaving the fold and cozying up to JWs.

One day there was a confrontation between Uncle Mafia, Beautiful Niece, and some JWs who kinda considered Beautiful Niece as one of their own.

Now the JWs had a kingdom hall in that vicinity, and one morning someone passed by that area and there was no kingdom hall to be found. During the night a truck had come by with a bull dozer and that Kingdom hall was levelled right down to the ground.

My friend surmised that Uncle Mafia had made his statement, firm and determined in this time of the end.

The next time I see my friend I will try and get the specific details and maybe try to find out such news in archived newspapers wherever the event happened. May be this story is part of the belief that some deal was cut with the big M.

Hi SF,

That so-called "hit" (not to be confused with "whack") is for the book "Wolves Among Sheep" about a case in Canada. The NY mob was not involved.
