Well, the heirarchy's already well-established, and the R&F are already expected to behave as though the GB is infallible (in-all-but-name-only), so...

Russell was never a part of the WT. Russell started The Bible Students, which is still around. Rutherford was the printing end, and he broke off, took many members, and started what is now the WT. The people (today) follow the teaching of Russell...who was also off on his own trip. To be a part of the Bible Students you must follow what Russell was teaching, or they won't let you stay. same old song nad dance as the WT...they also sell Russells books.

I don't expect a huge exodus anytime soon, lets face it, those 8 million have swallowed all the Bu****t of recent times, so they will willingly swallow more.
A huge public scandal (remember they have covered up so much in the past) involving all, or nearly all, of the GB would do it, as no JW would feel obliged to no longer question and then question some more.
I doubt that will happen, the selection process for GB members must be pretty thorough these days.
A slow drying up of support will happen, eventually that will reach a tipping point where only the hard-core see any point in remaining, but I believe that time to be decades away.
A transition to nothingness...fade to black....no fear....everything will be ok.....
