This story is old news but just as shocking as ever for those seeing it for the first time.
There should be some corporate guidelines related to investments. The ethical values of an organization are top down. If the top does not follow ethical guidelines then they cannot expect that lower level of management (i.e.e COs and elders) will have any higher ethical framework.
Blues brothers are you able to provide a scan of this supposed "response" from the WBATS like others on your OP asked ( with today's technology compared to a decade ago I'm sure you can ) or are you going to dodge the upload a scan question and we are just to take your word for it like the GB also tells us to???

I had recieved a similar explanation from the society about Rand Cam years ago. I can not scan it, can't even find it.
I don't have the capability to scan anything onto this site nor do I know how, but I too had recieved a similar letter.
As for the UN/NGO thing, that shocked me when I first discovered information on it about ten years ago. The society sent me a letter explaining they just wanted to use the UN Library/ Media facilities , which we know is bs.
I saw behind the wt curtain. my eyes were opening and it led to my discovering the tatt .
There is no excuse for the society to have been involved in any way with the UN. Yes, hypocrasy on their part and proof the gb do not trust in Jehovah's protection or obey him. (IF he even exists.)
Most witnesses still don't know about these things and my jw brother does not WANT to know. It is good that such things get brought up here so those who don't know will find out.

seems the society is up to its old hot potato routine, to pass the issue off as if they had no part in it and didn't realize what happened! Even though they have OCD when it comes to their finances and funding, but all of a sudden they want to play dumb to a couple million dollars in shares they didn't know was there in their name at the time until someone exposed them, just like the UN scandal...

The claims here that these incidents are just a minor consequence of the organizations modern operations are wrong. What happened to not using the world to the full? There is no excuse for an organization that condemns other religions so emphatically for political links and bloodshed to be involved with the UN or Rand. The comments made about Hispanic Witnesses are racist and very offensive.
