I guarantee that during the life of an Assembly Hall, after all actual expenses, there were enough contributions to pay for at least an entirely new Assembly Hall. But in the past when they said there was a need for a new Hall, they started from scratch and asked for a fund to be started.
With the new arrangement of Watchtower paying for it all, I bet they still build new Assembly Halls, but not as often to replace old ones.

Interesting you should mention that, OTWO.
in the USA, every circuit has had an elder designated to asses every KH in the circuit and its relative need for replacment. The assesment includes dates of last remodels or rebuilds, age of structures associated with KH, age of hvac systems, age of sound and related av equipment, mean age of congregation pups, number of those serving and oh yea.... ablity to fincially support the current hall. Meaning how much are they donating.

They cut in half the number of days a circuit or group of congregations uses the hall but double the expected contribution. Thus, the hall is used more and donated for more. Sons of b****s
