A Challenge to Apoligists - Why Would a Heavenly Father Kill a Newborn?

In the bible, the people who are said to have seen god at work question him and argue with him and demand miracles as proof.

But, for some reason today people should believe without the proof and made to be horrible and worthy of death for doubting. I want to see a stick turn into a snake, or have a wool pelt filled with dew though my grass is dry. I want to be swallowed by a giant fish and safely threw up. I want to see a burning bush that doesn't burn up. I want to see a giant pillar of smoke follow me all day long and fire at night. I want to stop shopping at the store and gather manna for a few weeks. I want to walk through the gulf of mexico on dry sand and see the walls of water beside me. I want to put my hand in my coat pocket and pull it out with advanced leprosy and then put it back and be cured. I want to hear gods voice like thunder. I want to see someone raised from the dead. I want to see people cured of paralysis or regrown limbs (withered hand).

Hundreds if not thousands of miracles were said to be done to prove who god was.

Today when I worry that 8 guys in NY are making the right choice on a blood transfusion, I have no faith, I am apostate, I doubt god, and I deserve death. Seems very fair.

    Comatose:

    Good post.

I used to pray and pray and pray.

Why does my life, and my family's life, suck so bad?

Why does life hurt so much?

    We're doing everything we can.

We're trying our hardest, not missing meetings, field service, studying, praying.

    We're doing our very best.

    Shouldn't there be some relief?

Was informed by an elder just this week, that all those killed by Jabooba are executed not murdered. So I've learned that

the great and powerful Jabooba executes little girls and boys. Makes me sick at heart just to print it

One reasoning was that the creator, having freely given life could revoke it, in case of children with executed parents ,--so as not to overburden the survivors. But

the whole concept of wholesale gory killings by god, these stories should be shelved with all the stuff that COMATOSE so ably touched on.

Yeah, that's why I had kids too!

I asked this question of my Baptist co-worker and in essence he said we exist to worship god, anything he does for us is just and all children who die will have a place in heaven.

I am convinced religion is a form of madness.

This goes back to other threads.

God: I LOVE all my children.

Oh, BTW, Worship me or die!
