That being said, it DOES look like a big black boner once you've let your mind see it that way.
I can only imagine the conversation the GB guys must have had once this was brought to their attention:
"Brothers, some of the friends think this picture looks like our African-American brother in this painting has a huge erect penis. I think you should all take a look at it"
GB #1, "That's strange, let's see the artwork."

I went to my personal copy of the Sing To Jehovah book, still not seeing what everyone was talking about.
It took a while, because the suggestion was there I finally saw it.
They say that hands are the hardest things to draw. But two problems arise here.
1) Look at the great job the artist(s) did on everyone elses hands especially Little Boy Blue and Green Giant
2) A Black hand holding the book that way would be showing the light side toward the viewer, so it wouldn't be all color matched like that
No wonder the sister at the bottom has the biggest , most surprised look.

I would say it was due to bad art work. Besides the penis is anatomically incorrect as it would be protruding out of the middle of the guys stomach.
