Okay, This is a bit "weird"

I'm not a person who is what some may call a "nut". I have a pretty firm grip on reality. I don't post any "weird" posts, or go in to any flakey discussion or such. In matters of "spirtuality", I see it as a self application area, as well as with thought in theology.

    Okay, this is it:

If anyone, in the last 5 years have had dreams that have come true...give me an e-mail. I'm not talking about revelations or visions. I'm not talking about any synthetic induced experiences either. I'm talking about; You go to bed at night, have a dream, wake up and the details in the dream match an event that has happened within about 3 months. Also, if you have had more then 4 of such "dreams".

I also want to state that; should anyone send an e-mail stating that some entity(Jesus/Allah/Oglah the Wise Mystic) has "talked" with them, I'm not going to respond to those e-mails.

I am looking for BASIC experiences. I don't want any eccentric stuff.

Should you reply, I am looking for specifics events. Should the event not relate to what I'm looking for, I'll give you a thanx but that's not it reply...politely of course.

    Here's weird.
When I was younger someone showed me a book. I read it and in part of it, it included me. A close friend saw it too - but it disappeared. In fact the person who gave it to us disappeared (into the corner of the house somehow). We still talk about it when we see each other.

A couple of things I remember from it were prophecies that came true, such as who would be a certain world leader. Also, it said that I would bear a mark, which appeared on me after a shower one day - although briefly - an unusual mark. Twenty years later my son was born with the same mark - he had it for years.

It happens to me a lot - eg. dreams of suffocation and hearing on the news in the morning that miners have been trapped and died. But it doesn't involve prophecy really, as I'm dreaming the events are actually happening.

I have a theory that sometimes, when we are in very deep sleep, we somehow resonate mentally with other's emotions. If those emotions are powerful enough then we can pick up on them subconsiously, and incorporate them into a dream.

One of the most disturbing examples of this that I had was when I dreamt I was putting salt on slugs, to kill them. As I poured salt onto a particularly large slug it turned over and metamorphed into my daughter. She just soundlessly uttered 'why?' as she died. The next morning I turned on the news and the top story was about a couple who had been convicted of manslaughter. They had fed their newborn baby on just processed foods. Their daughter had died from an overdose of salt.

I sent this e-mail to D8 but I thought I should post it here too.

hey...I dont know if this really applies or not.

    how ever...on 9-11..(yea I know...just hear me out)

I live in Oregon ...3 hour diff from New York. On that day I had to be at work at 7:00 am. I did not have a car so I had to bus it. Since it is over an hour bus ride I would get up at about 4:30, get ready and leave around 5:45 or so. Well that morning my alarm did not go off (or I turned it off in my sleep). I remember very clearly what time I got up because I was pissed that I was going to be late for work....6:03...the exact time the second plane hit in New York. I set all my clocks in the house by the atomic clock in boulder (really rather anal about it I don't know why). All I remember is being jolted awake at exactly 6:03 and feeling frantic. I rushed out of the house and caught the bus...half asleep and just not feeling "right"...then on the bus I heard from someone what had happened. Later I learned the time line and was a little freaked. As far a dreams...well I haven't been able to remember my dreams for years....but I do often wake up in the middle of the night with a deep feeling of dread....the news of the day often echo's those feelings.

I am looking for BASIC experiences

What kind of BASIC? GW-BASIC? QuickBasic? Visual Basic? LOL! <poke>

I've never really experienced anything like that, but I do get deja-vu ALL quite regularly.

The theory I've been developing about this is that I can actually remember stuff from future points in time, BUT the downside of this is that these events and things I remember in the future are just so bizzare and strange that my mind just discards them while processing them.

It's a little bit like this: Take a 3D-rendering studio, and make it draw two balls side by side, rolling and bouncing up and down. Now, generate a high-framerate video with it, say, 75FPS or so (as high as your monitor can handle). Now, halfway through that video, instruct the renderer to stop drawing the second ball. The details I leave up to you. You can't really see exactly WHEN the ball disappears, can you? This is because your brain is not designed to process events of that type, and thus your visual system discards the input, making it so that you KNOW that the ball has gone, but you can't quite see HOW it happens! That is why my deja-vu feels like, to use a rough anology. It all makes sense when I find myself in a point in time when that I remember remembering, but unfortunately my cognitive system simply isn't built to handle forward cognition of that kind. That sucks!

I emailed this too, but thought I would share it here anyway. I may have posted this in the past.

I have very vivid dreams, but one stands out to me that might fit what you are looking for. I may remember more later.

When my eldest son was about 6 (He is 38 now) I woke up shaking and crying, and my husband was trying to get out of me why I was so upset. I finally was able to calm down enough to tell him about the dream. There had been a terrible car accident and *****, our son, had been killed. I had to get up and go look at him, to be sure he was there, and healthy. Just a dream, right?

In the morning, the newspaper had a story about an accident, near our house, where several people were killed. One of them had the same name as our son, ***** ****. It made us both feel really creepy.

I had been reading a biography of Upton Sinclair, that week, and since he dabbled in the occult, I thought that was why I had the dream, and I immediately took the book back to the library.

This is weird. Many years ago, before I was a JW I dreamt is saw my dead Grandfather walking along a street I knew, I said something like ' you're dead, so what happens?' he replied something to the effect that the JWs were right about what happens. This was very weird when you consider what JWs believe. Anyway when I started studying with JWs I did think it might be some kind of 'sign' or something.I forgot to take into account that my GF was actually a very nasty piece of work, lazy, violent to wife and kids, pervert, probable pedophile, practiser of incest etc. I should have seen it a sign 'don't go there!'

I sent you a mail as well but I'll post what I wrote here as well since that seems to be the thing to do now.

Well I'm a bit hesitant here. From my limited exposure to you you seem pretty cool. So I'll give you a short list.

Age 6-around 13 I had a recurring dream about a tree. Not a regular tree but one that had another tree growing in the middle of it. Kind of like one inside the other. Never paid much attention to it until I was 28. After some digging on the subject of Paganism, which I never would have thought of as a JW, I found a story of a tree that had another tree growing inside of it. The resulting picture was pretty much exactly as I had dreamed it.

Sept. 11 I had a dream I was flying (like superman, not in a plane) then I just dropped out of the sky and kept falling until I woke up. A minute later my wife came in crying talking about some attack. Personally, I don't think this has to do with anything. More of a coincidence than anything but it is fun to tell.

Age 14 I had a dream I got into a fight with a guy at school who I didn't know. Sure enough I went to school and this guy came up behind me and slammed my head into my locker while I had my back turned to him. Needless to say the Karate came in handy that day as the resulting fight got me suspended and him good and bloodied. Funny thing was, I didn't even know him and he thought I was someone else.

Age 20 I had a dream that I got my girlfriend pregnant and she had a boy. Two weeks later she told me she was pregnant. However, as time went on the Dr. discovered she was having a girl. Me being the stubborn bastard that I am kept insisting she was having a boy. Man did I look stupid. That was until she gave birth and it really was a boy. I was the only person in the family that bought boy cloths even after she had had the sex confirmed to be a girl 4 times before the birth.

Age 27 I had a dream that my wife was pregnant and it was going to be a boy. However, the dream seemed darker for some reason. 3 weeks later we found out she was pregnant. Everything was good until we discovered that the baby had no kidneys and would die at birth. My wife aborted the child. DNA results confirmed that it would have been a boy.

Age 30 I have another dream that my wife is pregnant and she is going to have a girl. Seeing a pattern here? 3 weeks later she is pregnant and we now have a girl. We named her Karma as it seemed fitting.

There are others but those stand out the most. As I've posted before on the boards, I would much prefer to take the scientific route until it is no longer possible. I do believe that most people try to associate things together in order to confirm their belief in the supernatural.

Dear Lord, please save me from your followers.

    SYN,

: What kind of BASIC? GW-BASIC? QuickBasic? Visual Basic?

Here's a trivia question for you. Before it was called GW-Basic it was called M-Basic for "Microsoft Basic." Bill Gates renamed it to GW-Basic. Do you know what the "GW" stands for?

    "GW" stands for gee-whiz.

D8TA, I have not had experiences such as you've described. I would suggest you kep a diary of these experiences. I'd be interested in hearing more about this someday when and if you feel like discussing it.
