I understand that I should be disfellowshipped for talking to apostates (fellow apostates LOL) on the internet because it is a 'secret sin.' But what I don't know is if I can be disfellowshipped for telling people about the Dateline program, watching the Dateline program, and then talking about it after the program airs...Does anyone have any info on the policy and procedure for this type of behavior?

'The unwilling, led by the unqualified have been doing the unbelievable for so long with so little, we now attempt the impossible with nothing....'

mrs rocky2 - aw honey - you used the 'should' word. "I understand that I should be df'd". NO! You get that right out of your head. This instant! lol.

I don't know you so I'm gonna assume that you are not ready or don't want to leave the org. That being said - there are always 'ways' of doing things to get around the 'rules' of the org.

Of course you can talk about Dateline. If you are wary of the person, you can play the 'ignorance is bliss' option. "Well, I heard this going around and because 'so many ppl' are talking about it, we should check it out". Or, the defensive position of "Well, I've (again)heard so many ppl talking about it that I think it's important to see what Dateline says so that we can be ready for rebutals while in service."

THey will not df you for watching a show, or talking about it. But again, it's all in the 'how'. You may get a slap on the wrist. But I"m figuring if you play the defensive call above, as though it's in their best interests to watch said show - nothing will happen to you.

Watch out! You might get charged with "causing divisions" within the congregation..or perhaps "disrupting Jehovah's loving arrangement." As well, you know brothers and sisters are not allowed free discourse on topics so volatile to the Society, especially not in a Kingdumb Hell.

    Sincerely,

If there has been no announcement today or at the next book study about NOT watching the program....I see no reason any would get upset at the hall for watching it....."you didn't know you weren't supposed to".

This programs message is going to travel soooooooooooo fast through the congregations...."you will just be a face in the crowd?

    Good Luck!

Ah, District Overbeer - I'm talking about playing their very own games against them! Surely even you can think of ways to get 'around' their 'rules'.

Hmmm...guess I missed the announcement(s) since I missed book study, and all the other meetings this week, and for the last 3 years of weeks. Hee hee...

I think that upon reflection, I would realize that I've aways enjoyed DATELINE NBC because of its in-depth news stories, and so I probably made it a habit to check the TV listings in my local non-apostate newspaper. When I saw that the show would be about Jehovah's chosen people, I may have decided to watch just so that I could see Jehovah's Glorious Name vindicated by His Faithful and Discreet Slave Class.

I would probably remember very clearly that I did not learn of the show from ANY internet communications, because I kknow how harmful they can be. Besides, on the internet, no one knows who anyone else is. A Deemin could be at the other end of the wire. Or an ambulatory stuffed Smurf doll.

    high mrs. rocky2,

you want to play games???.........ok, here's what you do, since the whole elders arrangement is done by a game.

here's some clues,,,,,,,,jw elders operate on "fear", not holy spirit, .......either they scare you, or you scare them.........
so if one of them want's to mess with you.......all you have to do is start mentioning "facts" about their personal lives....

most jw elders are involved in all kinds of corruption that they want to keep a secret!!!......... a friend of mine said a few things to the P.O. in our congregation, ........and bingo....the P.O. never brought him up again....no matter what he did!!!!!
