here's why children are suffering...

dueteronomy 19:15 says...........no single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or a sin, in the case of any sin that he may commit.
at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses the matter should stand good. 16. in case a witness scheming violence should rise up against a man to bring a charge of revolt against him, 17. the two men that have the dispute must also stand before jehovah, before the priests and the judges, who will be acting in those days. 18 and the judges must search thoroughly, and if the witness is a false charge against his brother. 19 you must also do to him just as he had schemed to do to his brother, and you must clear away what is bad from your midst. 20. so those who remain will hear and be afraid.......nwt

so when a little girl comes in and says......."my daddy keeps making me @#$% him".......the elders ask her.....~~~~ "do you have 2 witnesses?~~~~......then the little girl says....."no daddy made me do it"...........then the elders, being scared of the DADDY P.O....tell the little girl,,,,,,, "you don't have two witnesses?,,,,,,you are lying........don't tell anyone........or we will punish you with something............mean while later......the little girl is growing up to be +++"different"+++......so they disfellowship her.

I had a discussion with an elder in my cong re this topic. He upheld this policy completely. It was not a very Jesus-like attitude. If Jesus could find ways to get around the law out of mercy and pity's sake...why not the elders?

I said...so in my case I can't do anything and he said if you have two witnesses you can and I said...yeah but most survivors/thrivers don't have any other witness, that's why they're so alone in their suffering. He didn't care!

And then the wt tells me my memories aren't reliable because they are 'repressed' and could have been suggested to me! BAH! Find that article on their official site and have a fit like I did!

That's what you get when you place strict literal translation over common sense. I seriously doubt when that scripture was written that it encompassed crimes of such magnitude as child molestation or witnessless crimes as well.

Deuteronomy also calls for stoning to death and sacrificing of bulls and sheeps. Do they follow that to a "T"? If not and we know they don't, why not?

Odd how they pick and choose to be so literal with scriptures and cause so much pain and suffering, while ignoring others.

they were trying to cover their tracks, teaching people that the molested victims memory isn't reliable.

Yeah I saw that article as an excuse for their stuffups.

They won't admit they were wrong on this issue tho...and telling us that our memories are worth sh*t...oh there's gunna be a war over that one!

When the apostles tried to shoo away the children, Jesus embraced them whole and said woe to any who would stumble the little ones as they are the inheritance....

Why aren't the wt taking in his example. Just as Dakota said, if they can ignore certain scriptures...like sacrificing bulls etc...why oh why are they sticking to the two witness policy.

Jesus said we aren't under the ten commandments anymor, but under two laws only and really the commandments are a beefed out version of:

'You must love Jehovah with your whole heart, soul and mind' and 'You must love your neighbour as yourself'. Now did he mention anything about a law that only really governed and protected you from getting ripped off?

I started a thread before on two witnesses. There are cases in the Bible where there is only one human witness. The other witness is the Creator himself, or that which is namely facts of existance.

When I wrote this thread I didn't want to make it any longer than it is. There are other references that also show what is to be done when there is only one witness.

For example the Bible speaks of persons taking an oath. Jesus said when opposers told him he was witnessing for himself. Said if you don't believe what I am telling you, then believe the works that I am doing. In other words, the works that he was doing attested or gave witness that he was doing God's work. The works that he was doing was the second witness. In Malachi it states that Jah would be a swift witness against adulterers and such.

In the courts of the land, today, one swears to tell the truth upon the Bible, they declare an oath. If a person is accused of child molestation and denies it. Why doesn't he agree to a lie detector test? Why don't the elders ask him to go before the congregation from the platform and say I have been accused of being a child molester, I hereby swear before you and by Jehovah God that I have not committed the crimes that I am accused off. That would be a powerful stimulous to tell the truth.

Many times we see on the news where a politician is accused of wrongdoing. He goes before the press, and makes a public denial of the charges. Why can't witnesses do the same.

I hope to go in more detail and explanations from the Bible that the Watchtower position is WRONG

Of course, the WTS conveniently forgets that Christians were freed from observance of the Mosaic Law. In fact, pharisaical-minded Jewish Christians in the 1st cebtury were roundly condemned for attempting to impose the Law on the congregation.

Your comment is exactly what happened to my little sister. It's disgusting. My heart aches for all the years she had to endure the abuse as a little girl, under 5 years old.

I thought it was only our family who had went through all this nightmare & now I can see that thousands of children & families were afected.

The more I find out about their wrong doings the more I literally puke.

The whole 2 witnesses policy sux...what child tamperer is going to have 2 witnesses around before they desecrate a helpless child's mind and soul??

Vi...you're barking up the wrong tree...you should talk to the authorities...and tell them about your situation/history....NOT the elders. And when you have been given some advice...seek legal action, as you could be entitled to claim for damages. Vi...talk to someone from silent lambs or off here for advice....don't just let it go like that. Just some sisterly advice
